26. A masterclass video
When I saw this prompt, I knew immediately that I’d be posting “the one with the orange.” Gyorgy Sebok demonstrates generosity, wit, and pure poetry.
Speaking about creating the illusion of connecting two notes in a wide leap - “you must dream all the notes in between.” Of course!
The orange trick is a good gag (wait for it), but he connects it up to a fundamental lesson about how the mechanics of the entire system of the body work at the piano.
As one of the commenters on YouTube says, I’ll be watching these masterclasses for the rest of my life.
