Needless to say, Scotland needs to boot scoot boogie out of the UK
Labour leader under intense pressure to act to prevent more restive MPs from leaving party
I mean yeah, take your time mate. Not like we’re on the bloody clock or anything.
Ian, you do know that a second referendum like the one you describe wouldn’t actually change history so that we never joined, right?
You should've gone for the second referendum
you know when you’re a bit sick of your phone company and you start seeing deals advertised everywhere for cheaper plans, more data, more texts, more minutes, more more better better
so they sit you down and put the contract in front of you with all these amazing things on it and you sign it bc yay you’re getting a better deal
but then after you’ve signed, the new company shrugs and says ‘well actually we only thought we could give you those things, they probably won’t come true and you’re probably going to be worse off than you were before’
and you say ‘hey but wait a minute this isn’t what I was promised’
and the uk government oopsImeanphonecompany says ‘tough, you made your choice’
you wouldn’t stand for it from companies, so why should we stand for it from the government?
Government explores how long referendum would take
Chris Mason
Political Correspondent
The government has produced "a very short paper setting out the factual detail on the number of months required" to hold another referendum, Downing Street has said.
This was "produced to inform the expected discussion" with the MPs who have been to see the PM and other ministers.
A government source told me it suggests "in excess of a year" would be needed before another referendum.
The document was a single side of A4 paper and it won’t be published. It doesn’t, I understand, include a discussion of the question.
A year ? 🤦♀️
Because when you’ve loudly shat yourself while sitting on a bus, clearly the solution isn’t for you to clean yourself up, it’s for the passenger unlucky enough to be sitting next to you to be encouraged to shit themselves too.
