Curse of the Moon--Book 2 of My YA Fantasy Romance Series, Secret Warrior!
Curse of the Moon–Book 2 of My YA Fantasy Romance Series, Secret Warrior!
With a zeal of inspiration I’ve wrapped up Curse of the Moon, Book 2 in my Secret Warrior Series. Book 1, The Hunter’s Moon, is out Dec. 14th! And yes, there’s a book 3 I’ll be writing next. After that, who knows?
Landing in YA land is the best thing ever. I’m loving my fantasy romance series, set in our misty Virginia mountains, where the paranormal abounds. Actually, it does, and in the…

Hidden Feelings - A StaticQuake FanFic
Here is a fanfic written for my SQ Secret Warrior gabrielightwoood who i believe is now feministlaurellance. I hope you enjoy this.. I may add more to it later as I honestly enjoyed writing this..
Heavy wooden doors slowly creaked open; slender hands pushing upon the thick wood in order to get into the next room. Hazel eyes glanced around at the clinically white room that held eight beds and eight lots of equipment within. But it was not the details of the room these hazel eyes seeked. Instead, they seeked one of the current occupants. No, not a patient either. Instead, they seeked out one of the residents; one of the new residents. Dr Campbell. It was still weird to even think of let alone hear, in the mind these hazel eyes belonged to. She'd only ever known him to be the transitioner at Afterlife and to now think of him as a Doctor, well that was rather weird.
Daisy found herself a free bed and perched upon the edge. Her hands clasped together loosely as her eyes looked about before looking down toward her hands. She lost herself in her own world for a moment; butterflies filling the pit of her stomach as she sat in wait, in anticipation. Why she felt so nervous, Daisy did not honestly know. Saliva began to build up within her mouth, her throat working overtime to swallow it back. She slowly closed her eyelids and focused on her breathing. Slow. deep breaths were key to calm herself down. She could not afford to lose control here. The rustle of fabric soon caught her hearing and her head lifted. It was the nurse that had been working with Lincoln. Daisy quickly stood to her feet and reached out to gently take hold of the nurse's arm.
“Dr Campbell, is he --Is he going to be busy for a while?” She questioned with nervous expression. The nurse smiled softly and glanced over to Lincoln before looking back at Daisy. “Miss, he should be done with his rounds shortly.” “Could you… could you say he’s got one more patient to see?-- Me.. but don’t tell him that it is me..” Daisy knew it would be a long shot but even so she had to give it a try. The nurse gave a small sigh, her eyes glancing back to Lincoln before looking back at Daisy. “Okay, just --Stay quiet.” She then quickly pulled the curtain around and left Daisy in the cubicle whilst she went off to the reception desk once more to quickly put together some fake notes. Daisy gave a small smile of relief and sat herself back down on the edge of the bed once more. Now all she had to do was wait for Lincoln to come to see his new patient.
Lincoln finished with his patient and with patient notes in hand, returned back to the reception desk before pulling the pen from his doctor's coat pocket and began to write up more notes to the file. The nurse Daisy had spoken to was sat at the computer when she noticed Lincoln and quickly looked up before standing and walking over to him to pass him the new file. "Sorry to plant this on you... She refuses to see any other doctor.."
Lincoln kinked an eyebrow as his ice blue orbs looked toward the nurse and gave a small chuckle. "What can I say?--- I'm a charmer."
The nurse shook her head with a chuckle before patting the file and walking back to her computer. Lincoln slipped the file into his hand and made his way back to the ward he'd just been on. Reading the makeshift notes, he pulled back the curtain to the cubicle that Daisy was hidden in. "What seems to be the issue then--?" His words soon stopped as his eyes fell upon Daisy sat on the bed before him. He wanted to be angry but she had that nervous look she'd possessed. "You know this is my workplace..."
Daisy swallowed and slowly stood herself up from the bed to face him fully. "Lincoln, hear me out.." She began to try and negotiate with him. Lincoln scoffed at her words and threw the file down on to the bed before putting his hands into the pockets of his scrubs. "Daisy, I've already told you and Director Coulson I won't be a part of anything." He was quick the reply to her. Daisy sighed, her arm reaching out toward him. "It's nothing to do with Coulson.. I need your help.." This was going to get into a heated discussion if she wasn't careful but she needed to get her point across. Lincoln sighed, his eyes looking about the cubicle before looking back at her. His expression was that of a lost puppy. "Daisy, I'm needed here.. You can easily handle inhumans with your team.." Now he was becoming nervous. He lifted a palm to rub the back of his neck; go for awkward situations and Lincoln Campbell being the middle of it as per. Daisy frown and shook her head before stepping forward and setting her hand upon his arm. "I need you in more ways than one Lincoln! ---I Love You for crying out loud!"
Daisy quickly stepped back, her eyes wide at the words that had just left her lips. Lincoln just stood frozen to his spot, a bead of sweat trickling down his temple. He was lost for words; unable to fathom up a response. He quickly picked up the file from the bed once more and allowed his fingers to ruffle through his dirty-blonde hair. “I er-- I should get back to work” A faint blush was however evident upon his cheekbones as he hurried toward the curtains and pushed them back. Daisy sighed slightly and nodded her head in response as her gaze averted from him in faint disappointment momentarily. She quickly gathered up her thoughts and lifted her head once more. Giving him a small smile, Daisy walked toward the edge of the curtain. “I guess, I’ll see you around..” her voice spoke with sadness hinting at her tone. Lincoln simply nodded his head in response, leaving Daisy to leave the ward in silence.
This was not something that Daisy enjoyed. She’d just blurted out her feelings toward Lincoln only to face disappointment and no response in leu. Her feet trudged out of the hospital and back on to the streets of the city; hazel eyes looking around before she set off down the sidewalk. Her mind became lost in a trail of thought as her feet lead her several blocks before she finally came to realise that she’d walked slightly further than expected. her lips pursed into a fine line as that of a small frown came to knit her eyebrows together above the bridge of her nose. Once more, her hazel orbs took in her surroundings, this time with a little more attention to detail; something felt slightly off -- What? Daisy did not yet know. subconsciously, her feet took several steps back from the spot she’d now stood stationary on for several moments. All the while, her eyes kept themselves alert for any danger. She’d know if it was HYDRA.. This? -- This definitely was not HYDRA, that much was for sure.
Daisy closed her eyes for a moment; enough to focus on the vibrations of everything. To see if there was an odd vibration. She was right.. This vibration was slightly odd. Her eyelids shot open once more and she quickly spun on her heel to face the odd vibration.. A female? or so Daisy thought at first glance. They appeared to resemble a female anyway. “Who are you?” now came the questioning. “Something you should fear!” the female replied rather quickly. “---What are you?” Daisy swallowed as her eyes looked directly toward the female. She wanted to know if the woman really was a threat or not. “You’ve no need to know!” the female snapped in response; her fists clenching at her sides as her stance became hostile. Daisy took note of the woman’s stance and flexed her own fingers. The female had already answered all Daisy needed to know and she now prepared herself for the worst. “Look, my name is Daisy Johnson… I am an inhuman, just like you.. I can help you..” She just hoped the woman would negotiate with her now. “I need nothing of your help, Daisy! I am fine as I am!” The woman snarled at Daisy and her eyes narrowed. Silence fell upon the pair for a split second before the woman’s frown become more prominent. Daisy Swallowed, a look of confusion fleecing her features. In that moment, pain shot through her body and it jerked into a position like that of paralysing cramping. She attempted to lift her hand to throw out a shockwave but this woman’s power was too immense for her own to handle. She felt herself falling to the sidewalk; body still in the paralysing position the woman had put her in.
Lincoln meanwhile, had just finished his rotation and his shift was finally at a close. The inhuman male was blissfully unaware of the happenings outside but his mind still locked itself on the words Daisy had spoken. Many questions ran through his mind. Was she speaking the truth? Did she honestly mean it? Why did she feel such a way if it was true? Lincoln put the thoughts to the back of his mind and threw his bag over his shoulder before walking out of the hospital and down the sidewalk. He’d put his headphones into his ears and was happily listening away to his music when he overheard the faint cries over the volume of his music. His brow creased into a frown; fingers moving to pause the music on his iPhone. He cautiously removed the earphones from his ears and pushed them into his pocket as he slowly got nearer. Those screams, they were ones he recognised. They were Daisy’s. Lincoln’s pace quickened. He almost sprung himself into a sprint in order to get there quicker before he quickly stumbled to a stop several metres behind this strange woman who’d appeared to get Daisy in an odd position upon the sidewalk. Lincoln did not hesitate; hand quickly rising before he threw out his electrokinesis directly at the woman so that she became distracted from hurtin Daisy.
Daisy slowly looked up with a confused look to see Lincoln. She slowly sat herself up and shuffled herself away from the woman but still in sight to watch Lincoln. Lincoln showed no mercy toward the woman who’d hurt Daisy. He was not normally one to fight out in anger but his emotions and feelings toward Daisy had taken over and he was by no means allowing this hostile inhuman to harm Daisy in any way. He pulled the woman over to him with his ability, ice blue eyes giving a cold stare before he flung the woman out of the way, knocking her out cold as she came into contact with the wall of a building. Daisy groaned and took a deep breath as her eyes watched before they turned her attention solely to Lincoln who now walked himself over to her. She mustered up a faint smile as he came to stand before her and offered out his hand. Daisy took it; grip obviously slightly weak before he helped her to stand to her feet.
“Thank you..” Daisy muttered.
“Don’t mention it..” Lincoln softly responded with a smile. “She seems a little over hostile..”
“Yeah, I think she’s been the worst one for it so far..” Daisy commented as she looked over at the woman before pressing her comms for Mack and Lance to come and take the woman.
Lincoln stood and watched her, his hands had come to settle upon Daisy’s waist to keep her upright; her body still seeming quite jelly-like to him from the effects of the other woman’s abilities. “Daisy..” He piped up once again.
“huh?” Daisy glanced up at him… “What is it?” She honestly did not expect him to do anything.
“I meant to do something during our conversation in the hospital…” Now he was getting butterflies within his stomach. Daisy frowned at his comment; confusion seemed to be something that came often when she was with Lincoln. Lincoln simply chuckled and allowed a palm to reach up to brush her cheek softly before his fingers became entangled within her short waves of brunette hair. He slowly leant down and allowed their lips to brush; breaths dancing together for a moment. Daisy’s eyelids fluttered closed as Lincoln’s lips finally pressed upon hers in exchange of a tender kiss. “I love you too, Daisy Johnson..” His soft tone then whispered out against her lips.
