Marissa stared at the letter, the seemingly ever present feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach growing a little bigger. When she’d first seen the owl, she’d assumed it would be a letter from them. It had turned out to be worse. This could ruin everything. If her parents found out, she knew they’d never want her to leave the house again. God, why was this happening to her? She felt more helpless now than she ever had before, save perhaps that awful summer after third year. Nervously, she shredded the letter into tiny pieces, just as she did with every unwanted letter she received. Out of sight, out of mind. She chanted silently to herself. Out of sight, out of mind.

Archer crumples the piece of parchment in his hand, eyes flickering around the dorm room to see if anyone had witnessed his small moment of anger. Archer was slow to anger, but this, this was something entirely different. This could ruin his entire family, and that was not something that Archer was willing to compromise on. While most would be scared of what this mysterious X had up their sleeve, Archer mused, he would not toe the line. This was his mother’s reputation, her marriage. This was non-negotiable. “Have it your way.” he mutters, shoving the letter into the fireplace with a scowl. “i’m not gonna let you ruin my family.”

Emlyn took in a sharp breath as she saw what the note that had been slipped into her bag said. She could almost feel the panic fighting it’s way back through from the back of her mind, but the potion she had taken that morning was still holding it off. And that was exactly why no one could ever know. They would stop her, she knew they would, but she needed these potions. They were the only thing that let her be functional, that let her feel like a normal teenage girl and not just the pathetic messed up baby Longbottom. It gave her a control of her life that she had never actually had, and she was desperate to not lose it. She was going to have to go along with whatever it was this X person wanted.

Don’t worry Lysander, everyone has a secret, some are just better at hiding it than others. Some are rubbish at it, like Leah Vane. Go to Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom after hours and find out her secret, then confront her about it. Otherwise, everyone will know yours. ~X

Lysander frowned as he stared down at the letter, He didn't want to know what Leah would be doing in the bathroom after hours he certainly didn't want to be the one to find out whatever it was and then confront her about it, all of this was just crossing so many boundaries part of him wondered if his secret was even worth it.With a sigh he ripped up the note, maybe Leah's secret wouldn't even be that bad? Maybe she wouldn't care? They weren't that close, maybe if he could convince her he wouldn't tell anyone when she knew he knew everything would be okay? This was just screwed up on so many levels, what the hell would he even say to her? What would his excuse for being there be? It's not like he could tell her he's being blackmailed by someone who only uses one stupid letter as a name.He was in way over his head.

Elliot sucked in a deep breath as he looked at the note in his hands. He had no idea how he was supposed to handle this. Kissing Lily ... it could ruin everything. She was one of his best friends, and he knew there was no way she liked him too. This could completely ruin his friendship. On the other hand though ... he couldn’t let everyone know about his past. Hogwarts was the only place where he got to just be Elliot, where people saw him and not just what had happened to him. He didn’t want to lose that.

Tsk tsk tsk Albus, what would your parents think if they knew what a thief you were? Well, you’ve started, why stop now? But I don’t want you to be caught, of course not. Simply steal something on the Hogsmeade trip and plant it on your brother. Otherwise, everyone will know your secret. ~X

He wasn’t sure what to think we he found the note tucked into his book. His stomach dropped in horror. There was no way they could be serious. They were seriously going to blackmail him over stealing by making him steal again!? And they wanted him to plant it on his brother? No, of course not. He couldn’t do that. That was absurd.

But... if he didn’t, his secret could come out. They would know that he was a thief, and an idiot who couldn’t even make a simple potion. And if that got out to the newspapers, that Harry Potter’s son had not only stolen from a professor but then screwed up so bad that he had damaged his lungs, it would be absolutely mortifying.

He knew, deep down, that he was going to do this. He just hoped he could do something quick and easy, that wouldn’t result in anyone getting into trouble.
