Summary: Dean's... content. He's single, and he'll probably stay that way for the rest of his life. He screwed up his relationship with Cas, fucked up badly enough that no one in their right mind would take him back, and really, Dean's already stupidly lucky that he's allowed to see Ariel at all, let alone have her over at his place every other weekend. It's more than he deserves, but hell, he's not about to give it up. He's accepted the consequences for his actions, and he's content. At least, he thinks he is.

Comments: 9/10. It’s pretty angsty but it’s also so good. Dean and Cas are mated but separated, Dean having screwed up big time when they were just teens. They mostly keep away from each other and pine for each other in secret, but also taking care of their daughter, Ariel. Until one day Dean hires a new assistant who turns out to be Cas. They work together and go on a business trip together. It’s cute and fluffy but also pretty angsty. It’s told from Dean’s POV and he has incredibly nosy friends. There’s a prelude detailing what happened when they were teens that they separated after mating, but I didn’t read it... It’s a kid fic but it’s not that centered around the kid. WARNING: infidelity, Cas has a boyfriend and is actually engaged when he and Dean get together.

But can we talk about Secretary!Cas being totally inappropriately suggestive with his boss Dean. And Dean having to fight to stay focused during conference calls because his secretary is unnecessarily bending over his desk again...
