Hello my lovely! I hope you’re having a great start to your weekend!! Thanks so much for popping in to ask about the love of my life, Ezra the silver-tounged scoundrel 💚

So The Grove is my attempt at smashing two long standing wips into one. Killing two birds with one Google doc, if you will. One is centered on a mythical planet that turns out to be very real and is home to some very powerful (and valuable) assets. The second is centered around Cee’s aunt trying to find her prior to the events of Prospect.

So now, Reader is Cee’s aunt (by marriage- you were married to Cee’s mother’s brother, but they were both tragically lost in the same mining accident) and you have tracked Damon down with legal paperwork that says you are Cee’s guardian, but he is refusing to meet up with you to turn her over unless you bring him a (verrrrrrrrry valuable) fruit that only grows on one (verrrrrrry dangerous) planet. You agree because you want to save your niece from her shitty father and because you know how long goi g through legal channels in the Fringe will take. So that’s how you end up on Hesperida.

Ezra is on a very different but equally personal and familial mission, Hesperida being the chosen final resting place of his brother Noah - because of a myth involving Kevva and magical trees. Ezra is very prepared for Hesperida’s danger, but when he runs into Reader it’s clear that she is not. (And it becomes clear that leaving her uninformed was by design. Fucking Damon 😒)

Anywho, they decide to stick together to complete their missions, and, well… you’ll just have to wait and see what happens, BUT! Here’s a little snippet to hold you over since I have no idea how long it’ll take to finish:

Pink Skies

oh my god, my brain went in two separate directions with this one (a tale of two Javi's if you will)

my first thought was something with sweet, sweet Javi G. pink skies are my favorite (i always refer to them as cotton candy skies), and i'm thinking it would be a fluffy "slice of life" kind of fic. it's the first nice day in a long time, and the two of you spend the day walking around a quaint and charming little city, ending the day with a picnic in the park and watching the clouds as the sky turns your favorite shade of pink 💕 featuring lots of hand holding and sweet kisses

the second is a pink shirt Javier Peña. maybe the two of you were getting ready to go out for brunch, but you couldn't keep your hands off of him as soon as you saw him put on your favorite shirt. and now he has you sprawled out on your shared bed, hovering over you and making you feel oh so good, the breadth of him stretching that pink shirt being the only thing you can see, your own personal pink sky

So. I've worked around horses and ducks before. There is no easy answer. And it entirely depends on what kind of fight we're talking about. Fist fight? Armed? Skillfully coordinated attacks? I'd fight the 1 horse sized duck though because it's just one opponent I have to keep track of AND! What kind of horse? It could be a miniature, a pony, not just a regular horse.

Definitely Fantastic Four! Not only do I love Pedro and Vanessa, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE retro futurism and I want more people to love it as well, and I think this movie will introduce retro futurism to a whole new population of people, which means I will get to see, research, and discuss it in new ways with new people, and I am super excited for that!

Also, Pedro as a professor. I was a teacher (K12 and college professor) and I have a strong "don't fuck your students" code so as much as I will be filtering out all the professor/student/age gap fics, his role as a professor is going to hit a sweet spot for me, the former professor his age.

I've never gotten over Jo March falling in love with a German professor over Laurie. Yes, girl, you shaped baby 7-year-old me into the woman I would become.

Hello, darling El!! Thanks so much for stopping by with this! I hope the year is winding down in the best way possible for you!

2- Which character or story did you daydream about the most this year? Was there a favorite daydream scenario that you hope to translate into fic?

I think it was probably a toss up between Oberyn & Ezra. It may have taken me approximately 9,000 years to finish working on my part of the latest Aphelion chapter, but I spent a lot of time thinking about him - both in scenes that either have happened/will happen in the story, as well as just… imagining him here sitting on the couch with me. I’d love to take a nap against that Dornish Vampire Prince’s chest. 😌 Now that it’s winter (even though it was super warm out today) I like to daydream about taking a stroll in the snow with him. Maybe I’ll write a little snowy drabble about him in the new year!

And Ezra has been my go to daydream man since I met him. I think a lot about what it would be like to be with him, the two of us alone on some tiny moon or distant planet, doing some odd and probably dangerous job. He’d be equal parts protective and confident that I can handle things. I spend a lot of time thinking about what he’d be like after a day’s work, when we’re back at camp - lots of skin contact whenever it’s safe to be out of a suit, even if it’s just a light touch on the wrist, lots of reading during downtime, sometimes out loud, lots of cuddling because Ezra likes sleeping that way. (And so do I.) I also think about what it would be like to wait for him to come home if he was on a job on his own. Both of these daydreams are going to come into play in a story I’ve been working on called The Grove. I’m trying to do what I’ve never done, though, and finish writing the whole thing before I start posting, so I’m not sure when it’ll turn up.

(But who knows, if I keep daydreaming then maybe it will be sooner than later!)
