HELL GATES X SWWSDJ X TGOGM (AU)
Good evening, let me introduce myself, I'm Freak and here I am leaving you with an idea that has been in my head for almost a year now, since l've wanted to join this fandoms so long ago, but also continue with my personal projects, I decided to put both together, because…why not? Even so l will try to work more on background designs and draw the missing characters, but in the meantime, here is my little AU of what the characters of SWWSDJ and TGOGM would be like because I like the idea and well..is a damn hell so yeah, in this AU both Jack and Joseph are individuals but aware of what happened in their past but I wont say more, I'll let you enjoy, bye:)
PD: I gave Barry a lastname BUT IS A FAN DECISION, NOT OFFICIAL

I'm on AO3 now as well!
Maybe we just add a whole bunch of new fanfic tags to the community, okay, what then- I'm very much out of practice with my writing by the way, I apologize-
Such fear.
You hadn't seen it before. Anxiety, definitely so. The stolen glances in class, the quick darting of her eyes during those seven minutes. Her downcast look as she stammered out promises earlier.
You'd assured her. Calming words, promises of your own, a gentle touch here and there. A kiss. Several kisses. And she had relaxed with you. She had danced with you, slowly, the reflections of the aquarium exhibits shifting on the floor. The anxiety had lessened then, and her eyes had looked up at you with trust… with love.
It was as though the sudden flood had washed that away. Now your head tilted slightly as you considered this wet, shivering girl in front of you, true fear brimming in those eyes.
Her face was cradled in the hands of your… what was she to you? Your patron? Your god? Something far worse or far more beautiful than any title could grant her-
"Am I to understand you've made your choice, then?" the Being asked. The corner of her mouth twitched into a slight smile.
Rosie's eyes flicked towards you, her terrified whimpers clawing their way out of her throat. "Wh- who are you- what do you want-"
"Look at me, girl." Rosie's face was forced up to look at the Being. "Do I look like I have any name you would want to know?"
… You called her the Dryad. It'd been about four years since you'd met, in the woods near your home. She'd been curious then. A bit dumb. She wanted to know about human life. About you.
Or so you thought. Things had changed.
You watched the scene unfold before you, Rosie once again being swallowed up and blinking out of this existence. You'd meet her again soon, according to the Dryad's plans. Rosie's petrified face flashed across your mind, her hands desperately reaching out to you, her final scream before she disappeared-
A quiet huff escaped you before you could stop yourself. You shot a look towards the Dryad.
She was facing away from you, seemingly transfixed by the spot where Rosie had been a few moments before. Relief loosened your shoulders, only for them to tense up again as her head turned towards you.
"Don't tell me you regret your decision," she said coldly.
You rolled your eyes and walked over to her. "Of course not. I just- she was so-"
"You asked me to 'put her in a situation' as you so eloquently stated." Her voice was low and mocking. "Don't start criticizing my methods now, Drifter."
You felt a small tug from inside and knew you were about to meet Rosie in whatever plane she'd been sent to. "She'll remember me?"
"She will, but this encounter she'll have no recollection of." The Dryad reached down and cupped your face in her hand, just like she did with Rosie's. The bark of her fingers scratched your cheek slightly- by no means was she planning to be gentle with you. "Have fun dealing with that. But now, time for you to take on a new role."
The tug grew stronger. You met her glowing eyes. "Once more your listener, Willow."
Her grip became tighter, her fingers threatening to tear your skin. A smile flashed across her face.
"Don't look away."
The tug this time was external. You were unceremoniously yanked out of the pool and tossed onto the ground, coughing.
"Really. The lady knight, again?" The Dryad's voice sounded exasperated. "Why do you continue to immerse yourself in these half-baked stories?"
You wiped the moisture from your face. "It was a good idea while you had it."
"It was a failed experiment, Sapling."
You fought the urge to roll your eyes at the nickname and the explanation that followed it. "Never figured you for the type to just give up."
"… That's harsh speech."
"Mm. Is it true, though, Dryad?"
"I didn't give up. I tactically retreated and took a different approach that worked… a lot better."
Right. Four years ago. And now you found yourself bound.
What if I had just left her in that forest? What then-
"What do you like so much about the clumsy knight and princess stuff anyway? Everything we have of those two is all distorted and wrong. None of it came through clean." The Dryad looked at you, a hint of curiousity hidden deep in those eyes.
"There was still potential. How stubborn the princess was, wanting to rebel against her position and her father. How Nezetta saw her fire and agreed to help- in a number of ways. They were…" Everything. "Sweet. It was sweet." You cleared your throat, suddenly conscious of your outburst. "In any case, it's something to do while I wait to get back to Rosie."
The Dryad never took her eyes off you. "All that, huh?" She took a breath. "Well, I didn't know we had a fanatic among us. You suit yourself then."
You watched her walk off. "What are you going to do?" you called out.
"Oh, nothing. I'm just going to catch up with a friend."
The Grove was empty once more. After a moment, you went back over to the pool. Your finger drifted across the surface, and you watched small ripples form, the water shining a soft lavender.
… Don't look away.
