Though they were perceptible only for a fraction of an instant—before the field collapsed and causality reasserted itself—I was able to intercept a transmission from one. It consisted of some historical records, which I will summarise, and a message.
When returning to their home dimension, the Cybertronians left a great deal behind—including the remains of several Decepticons who did not survive their respective encounters with the native inhabitants. Under the supervision of Princess Twilight Sparkle, Equestrian scientists dissected, analyzed, and eventually reverse-engineered these remains, fast-forwarding their own scientific and technological progress by several centuries. Within a matter of decades, the ponies grasped the principles of particle physics and nuclear power; five years later, the first generation of spacefaring ponies had established a helium-3 mining colony on their moon as part of their rapacious quest for new sources of energy. Villages became towns, towns became cities, and cities became humming megapolises.
The injection of Cybertronian technology and ethos into a primitive society had a significant effect on its culture. Within centuries, Equestrian scientists had developed miraculous life-extenders—synthetic lungs and artificial hearts—and this eventually gave way to a culture of cybernetic implants. In time, the ponies discovered that they could achieve immortality of a sort by transferring their consciousnesses into custom-built mechanical bodies. First through the extraction of the organic brain, then the mere transference of the electrical impulses that constituted their consciousness, an evolutionary leap took place—a leap spearheaded by Twilight Sparkle herself, who shed her alicorn form to become “Twilight Sparkle Prime”, supreme ruler of the strip-mined, cyberformed landmass that was once Equestria. Like another race I know of who underwent a similar biomechanical evolution, the ponies eventually forgot the original name of their homeworld entirely: they now call it 'Cybertrot'.
