Day Chart & Night Chart
Hi! Welcome to the another post of mine! Today I would like to show you a technique from Hellenistic (traditional tropical) astrology which is usually gate-kept, as it seems to be. Maybe this technique answers some of your questions you can't answer. Without further delay, let' just get into it!
We all know that tropical astrology is based on the Sun and its moving through the seasons (spring, summer, fall and winter), right? We wouldn't even have astrology, if it wasn't for the Sun, since this planet brings light to the other planets in the sky. Whenever there's light, there's life, in layman's terms. But did you know that the Sun also indicates whether you have a day chart or a night chart? Having a day or a night chart can also indicate whether your sect light is the Sun or the Moon. This is going to be the theme of this post today.
If you have the Sun above the horizon, meaning that the Sun is placed in the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and even in the 1st house, but still above the horizon (ASC-DSC horizon), that means you have a day or diurnal chart. Meanwhile, if you have the Sun below the horizon, meaning that the Sun is placed in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and even in the 7th house, but still below the horizon, that means you have a night or nocturnal chart.
Day Chart
If you have a day chart, that means the Sun is your sect light. This means that you might resonate more with with the placement of the Sun rather than the placement of the Moon. Pay attention to in which sign and house is the Sun as your sect light placed. When you have a day chart, Jupiter and Saturn are in their own sect, meaning that these planets function very well in your chart. Jupiter is your benefic planet, while Saturn as a malefic planet is less harmful if you have a day chart. Contrast to that, Venus as a benefic gives less positive influences in your life, while Mars as the malefic planet is more harmful here, because Venus and Mars are out of sect in a day charts.
Night Chart
If you have a night chart, that means that the Moon is your sect light. By saying that, you might resonate more with your natal Moon placements rather than your natal Sun placements. Pay attention to in which sign and house is the Moon as your sect light placed. When you have a night chart, Venus and Mars are in their own sect, which means that these planets function very well in your chart. Venus is your benefic planet, while Mars as the malefic planet is less harmful if you have a night chart. Contrast to that, Jupiter as the benefic planet is less beneficial, while Saturn as the malefic planet is more harmful here, because Jupiter and Saturn are out of sect in a night charts.
So, what about Mercury then? Mercury is a neutral planet, meaning that this planet loves to be both in a day chart and in a night chart. Mercury as the planet adapts itself in every situation, so this planet doesn't give a damn about whether the days are better than nights or vice versa.
Keep in mind that the sect light is the most prominent luminary in your chart. It can only be the Sun or the Moon, regardless of whether your natal Sun is placed above or below horizon.
That's it for today! I hope you have learned something new today. Comment what you think about this topic. See you soon!
Best regards,
