Though she is a bit different than the version I play over on my RP account, there is a version of Ada in the Anima Questio canon.
.
.
The room into which sound and color leeched again as the effects of the stasis imposed by the Combine Prisoner Pod wore off was a familiar one, as was the table to which she found herself restrained.
The woman leaning against the cabinets, rocking back and forth on her heels and giving her a playful smile, on the other hand, was not.
As Ada locked eyes with her, she beamed, ending her rock and flouncing across to the table to get a better look.
"Oh, good! You're finally awake enough to talk! Waiting here was so boring."
Licking her dry lips and struggling to gather up the multitude of whirling thoughts knocking against the inside of her bleary skull, she managed to force the words out of her parched throat.
"I… don't know you…"
The younger woman giggled.
"Well, that's obvious! Of course you don't! He never let anyone else near you, did he?"
Something about her cheery, high-pitched voice with its bubbly tone redoubled the throbbing in her head, and she groaned, making an attempt to lift her leaden arms up to cover her eyes, and settling for squeezing them shut instead when the limbs refused to budge.
"Kshhhh, just… what do you want from me?"
The woman's finger tapped playfully against the end of her nose, and she opened her eyes to scowl, feeling her teeth click uselessly together in a pathetic, immobile attempt to bite at the offending hand.
"DeLuca is dead. I'm in charge of you, now."
The abrupt statement set off a maelstrom of emotions in her still-fogged mind, and she ended up staring absently at the ceiling, trying to put a name to the thing she was feeling for a moment or two before finally dismissing it as too taxing with a little sigh.
"So then… you're here to finish the job? To pull its location out of me?"
Waving a hand dismissively, the woman grinned.
"Oh, no, I'm not. We already found it, you see."
That pierced the fog. Had she been able to, she would have leaped off of the table right there and then. As it was, she managed a spastic twitch, turning her head to stare at the other woman again, wide-eyed.
"Wh-!?"
The younger woman continued levelly, as if nothing had happened.
"And deployed it. Well, most of it, anyway. We did save some for analysis. If it works well in this Sector, we'll see about spreading it around."
She tilted her head, putting on an unreadable smile as she studied the older woman's reaction.
"Not what you wanted to hear, is it?"
Swallowing hard, Ada managed to croak out a response past the lump in her throat.
"So, I'm useless to you, now. Why not send me to the Stalker-Maker?"
Again, the woman giggled, as though the question were a joke of some kind.
"A Stalker? Someone like you?"
Stepping closer to the table and seizing her by the chin, turning her head forcefully to the side, she let out a little sigh, ending the fit of mirth.
"Ohhh, no. I have something more interesting planned for you."
Reaching absently over her head to pull down a drill-like implement with a sharp, serrated tip, the woman flashed her a cheery smile.
"Hold still! This might hurt a little bit."
Ada. I pissed off an entire facility of androids, I'm in deep shit, and I'm about to be caught. How should I take it?
Make 'em work hard to take you alive, kiddo.
Status report, Ada...? ;__;
...Still alive.
Not much changes down here. (I think it's down, anyway, could be up, if we're in the city.)
Chris has been absent lately. Something about the Resistance.
Wonder what's going on out there?
Oh, well. Whatever it is, it's earning me a break, so I'm all right with it.
Lydia, do you remember anything about your family?
My... family?
...
Ah.
Ahhh.
Yes.
I... I had my boys...
And...
...
I-I'm sorry, dear, I...
I think I need to be alone for a little while.
Lily, do you think you'll be able to navigate Aperture safely?
I'm not sure.
But what choice do we have? It's get killed there, and go down fighting, or wait here for the Combine to pick us off.
