I'm very excited to announce the release of my new children's book, "Under the Stars in Bethlehem: A Nativity Story for Every Family"! I wrote this book to be an inclusive telling of the Nativity story for all families, regardless of religion or lack thereof. As an atheist who was raised Christian, I still love Christmas, and wanted to be able to share the story of the Nativity with my daughters in a way that includes all the hope, kindness, and love of the season without requiring dogma or devotion, so I wrote this book. My intention was to make a children's picture book that would be equally welcome at the bedside of Christian children and atheist children alike. Hopefully that is what I've accomplished here.
My book is available on Amazon as a paperback or for kindle. Please leave a review if you read it!

The Joy of Secular Christmas
Nonreligious people pretty much do what everyone else does. We don’t go to church. But Christmas is much more than going to church.
I need to rant a little bit: I FREAKING love Christmas, but I LOATHE religious Christmas, and I wish it was more like a secular holiday for everyone to indulge and have fun instead of being used for White Christians to bash all other religions.
Even the worst aspects of Christmas season, with all the shallow and tacky consumerism, are still more enjoying that the way conservative Christians monopolize the image of the holiday to exclude everything that differs from a white, straight, cisgender, suburban, Christian nuclear family.
