Last week, someone asked me, how I would simplify the concept of algorithms. I was unsure. I thought my explanation did not sound enlightened. I thought telling them " algorithm is a step by step instructions for the computer to solve human problems and made by humans". Too simple, I thought.

I read books and blogs and in the end, I told the exact same thing to them. And their reaction was " ooo algorithm is human, so humans create these crappie things?". Ofcourse we do, we laughed about it.

This week, all my favourite Korean artists disappeared from spotify :S I was thinking very deeply about Spotify's recommendation algorithm, and how it recommended very few indie artists and how it recommended very few female artist. For all this, I will not be able to listen to IU anymore :S

Is algorithm evil? Or the human who created it? Or the society that made humans greedy? Or the greed that was give to us by...hmm...
