I don’t live in Kentucky but I live pretty close by, and everyone insulting Andy Beshear, the Democrat governor of a deep red state, is starting to get under my skin. I get the frustration with the McConnell situation, but what do you expect the man to do? Leave his post, fly out to DC, storm the hospital, and demand to see McConnell?
Scenario 1: He goes there and is prevented by hospital staff and McConnell’s staff from seeing whether or not the senator is dead and nothing changes
Scenario 2: In the unlikely case that McConnell is alive and mostly conscious, nothing changes
Scenario 3: Beshear finds McConnell in a coma and on life support or dead, which triggers a special election and ultimately will just put in a Republican who will vote how Trump wants them to vote because the Republicans aren’t going to let Beshear appoint a senator of his choosing, which would most likely be a Democrat
Why are you in a rush to replace one puppet for another? It’s better to play Schrodinger’s Senator and have one less vote for Trump than immediately refilling that seat with another Trump puppet. Think for a second!!
