Got my Baker's Creek order from a few weeks ago (before Buy Nothing Unnecessary). They sent me African Daisy instead of Dahlia. I emailed. And my free seed packet was... radishes 🤢

Hopefully cooked radish will be edible. At least they're an unusual color.

People who grow from seed!

It is 25th January today and while doing my seed order from Chiltern Seeds I noticed that a few things were already sold out, so here is your reminder to order seeds if there’s a particular variety of something you definitely want to grow this year!

If not, be prepared to organise a socially distanced seed swap so you can share with and get seeds from your local community!

I'm not going to replace my whole lawn unfortunately (my parents house, not mine) but I'm going to use it to fill in some bare spots around my wildflower garden, and maybe in front of the house where I park my car, I'm hoping it will help absorb more water so there's fewer puddles to step in!

Sad face. Baker Creek doesn't seem to give a free seed packet with every order anymore. I loved the surprise seeds. Ordered some greens to plant for fall.

After the pic, I put some cardboard over it until they sprout, to keep it from drying out. I've been hosing the cardboard to keep it damp.

The "litter box" in the barn seems to be working. They peed in it all night and morning...I don't usually go to the barn until around noon. Again, thanks for the brilliant suggestion, @pirateking42 !

They're still more flies in here than I would like, though less for them to breed in. If I change the "litter" once a week, should prevent them from hatching in here.

If I keep the PDZ stall refresher on the floor, I need some kind of sifter, so I can sweep up poop, but leave the PDZ behind. It's about the size of scoopable cat litter, but I think they poop might fall through a litter scoop. Hmm.

I've been watching a lot of onion growing videos. I had some misconceptions. One that was that I'm in a long-day onion zone...I'm in the intermediate zone (though I should be able to grow long-day onions).

I also thought that if you weren't in the south, you had to plant onion sets, otherwise the days weren't long enough for them to bulb. However, you *can* indeed start from seed; you just have to start them indoors really early (January).

This may have triggered an impulse impromptu order. (I also plan to order on January 15, Gardening New Year, but I wanted the onion seed to start *on* Gardening New Year... and I had to hit $10 so I could get my free seed packet, right? 😁)

Oops... It's most definitely after ten pm. Oh well. Happy Christmas Eve present, Me.

No clue where I'm going to put. And I already have garlic (tons) and multiplier onions... But these looked so good.

Maybe it's a response to pulling out the last zucchini plants today (they were in bad shape)... or maybe I'm just addicted.
