Another herbaceous perennial that provides great winter seed-heads is Echinops ritro (small globe thistle, blue hedgehog, globe flower, steel globe thistle) but now it is ready to be cutback before the new spring growth. This vigorous, upright plant has prickly dark green leaves which are whitish beneath and rounded, violet-blue flower heads from midsummer.

Right Now

It's been a while since I last posted to this little space and the truth is, I really need to do what I do in my day-life, and put on my blogging out-of-office.  So this is me, saying that I'm looking after myself right now and taking a break from the online world.  

I am still committed to this blog of mine and this is me being as honest as I can when I say, I need to disconnect for a bit.  I'm still thinking about blog ideas, creative projects and photography and will be back soon when the timing is right.
