Seeing Faces.
For as long as I can remember I’ve seen faces, Sometimes these faces are when I’ve closed my eyes whether an extended blink or before going to sleep at night. Sometimes these faces are above me, like on the ceiling looking down at me. I have mentioned before that I am pretty gifted when it comes to spirit work. Although these faces do seem paranormal…spirits… they always felt different to me. They kind of always scared me.
I honestly didn’t fully understand what these faces were, who they were (and really I am still semi unsure) and everything I say within this post is the my opinion, from research I’ve done, and my experiences. If you feel differently or have had experiences like this I would love to hear about it.
When I first started seeing these faces I thought they were ghosts, Ghosts that are on our plane/within our world. Personally I don’t think this now. I have had many experiences with spirits, and they do not look or feel anything like the spirits that I have had experiences with in the past.
In bed at night, sometimes I see the faces looking down at me, even though its dark the faces can still be made out, it’s not hazy or blurred, as if it could be something else. It’s a face. The faces are usually stern and often slightly transparent. Sometimes the faces look like they are trying to tell me something. Seeing them when I close my eyes, sometimes it’s like a sea of faces as if they are in a huge crowd and I’m just passing by, or they are in a bubble not of my world (but I’ll talk about that in a min), or if they are on a conveyor belt. Sometimes though it can just be one face.
When I said it feels like these faces are in a bubble. How I feel when I see a bubble is, the bubble is of our world but the contents isn’t…so I feel like these faces are not of our world. Well I have read a few theories, but this is the one I believe it to be. I feel like the faces are spirits. Spirits who are not within our astral plane, they have moved on but are just checking in, or wanting to pass on messages, etc. I believe that If you are seeing the same spirit multiple times they may be trying to tell you something.
The other explanation I found through research is that you may be catching a small look into a parallel reality, history, the future, past lives. Again to receive messages, or because you have a connection to that time or place.
I feel like I lean towards former, I feel like the faces are spirits. I feel like these spirits, spirits just watching over us. I have noticed ignoring them or screwing my eyes up super tight can sometimes get them to go away. We can see them, and they can see us.
But I’m still pretty clueless as to who they are, what they want. Everyone has their own idea.
"Let's Go"
Let's go places,
Let's see faces,
And make memories--
That time erases.

I'm sure that quite a few people involved in the visual arts experience pareidolia, that is, we sees faces in everyday things; maybe an ogre's stern visage in the random patterns in made by housepaint on a wall, or a dragon peeking out of the hideous popcorn ceiling at a relative's house. Until now, I've always neglected sketching out these critters, but my husband brought home some really cool pieces of wood (maybe the roots of some type of tree, or maybe vine, we're really not sure), and I was finally inspired to experiment. Here's one face I saw in this small chunk, and as i type this, I'm seeing at least two more that I want to sketch and possibly develop into sculptures. I feel like drawing is kind of my weak spot; I enjoy it much less than sculpting, so anything that gets me to do it more is a good thing. More soon!
I'm projecting here, but that's a face.
