He was a prince in Fleetway too, yes. My understanding is that the two teams paid virtually no attention to each other’s decisions for years, so yeah, probably just a coincidence. It’s not hard to imagine both teams individually going “Oh, bees have queens! That’s a thing! What if Charmy was from a big bee hive and the queen bee was Charmy’s mom.”
I mean, they didn’t exactly have much to work with going off of Sega’s description of Charmy in the 90s, which basically amounted to “he is one of the Chaotix” and “he is a bee”
