       “What’s wrong with my face?” His ‘soured’ expression was only because Iskandar kept picking at him to smile or teasing him over something. He didn’t think that it was done maliciously or to hurt his feelings, which it hadn’t, but it was enough to make him scowl and send a rather dramatic pout in their direction. “You’re overreacting. There is no logic to someone’s face staying a certain way. Have you gotten into watching one of those older television shows where they say something like that? You can’t believe everything you hear, Rider.” Huffing, he straightened himself with arms folded over his chest, only looking up to his companion from the corner of his gaze. “It is only slightly a nice day...” Only because he was contented to have Iskandar with him.

       And rejoice he did. Hearing Iskandar’s boisterous voice over the others in the room, the Caster was drawn to him and nearly tripped over his feet as he walked quickly to the man’s side. To anyone else, his own excitement couldn’t be contained, a smile far too sincere and honest melting away his stoic features. At least until he caught himself. Hand smoothed over the front his suit, clearing his throat as if to regain a semblance of the stern and straight laced Caster that was known in Chaldea. And yet, it didn’t take much, to hear Iskandar call out to him with invitation to some sort of mystery entertainment. Which reminded him  — Anything that Iskandar had deemed as entertaining could mean anything. By anything, something potentially dangerous. 

       Hands resting upon his hips, he stared up to him and scowled, a forced thing despite how much a grin tempted to break that weak facade. “And what sort of thing is that?” Not that it mattered much to him. He was content to only stand at his King’s side.

       As much as he knew Iskandar meant well, it was no less embarrassing. Discussing his love life, or lack thereof, wasn’t something he wanted to talked about with anyone. He didn’t see the point in pursuing anyone when that whole aspect of romance was something he considered impossible. That, and his thoughts were preoccupied with other, far more important, things. Lips flattening into a thin line, the Caster huffed and looked elsewhere, anything to avoid looking at him. “Not necessarily. My time isn’t spent thinking of ways to court someone,” he grumbled, voice kept low in hopes no one would overhear. “Why would I bother with that? There is no one I’m... rather...” Ears tinged with the faintest hue, he waved his hand dismissively in an effort to get rid of the topic. “Asking something like that, Rider! Why can’t you ask something else?!”

The statement only makes him dig his heels in further and shift into a resolute fighting stance. He’s only barely staying still, all the tension of a taut spring. Berserker isn’t moving away or to protect their gathered stash of materials, just focusing his gaze upon the rustling approach of enemy reinforcements. 

“Nnn.” As close to a nope as he can get in his current state. He spares a glance to Iskandar, just a moment, where even despite the helmet his skepticism of the command should be evident. He’s a Berserker. He doesn’t run. He fights until he dies or everyone else does, regardless of if that’s the best option or not.

Sorry, Iskandar, he’s about to take off into the fray as soon as it gets any closer, rewards and certain death be damned.
