—𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 and always would be people who doubted the legitimacy of their relationship, lately the speculations seemed to be increasing. countless social media posts, over analyzing every look, every touch; everything they did or didn’t do while in the same room. when the reporter asked what their future plans were he figured it was the perfect opportunity to put the general publics doubts at bay; at least for now. now that the other questioned him about it, however, he realized how slightly foolish his impulsive decision had been. not that he would ever admit that. “i did what i had to. you should be thanking me.” he said casually and accompanied by a nonchalant shrug. “people are on to us. we need to start stepping up our game if we expect people to believe we’re really a thing.”

leon snickered as opened the door to his dressing room, nodding his head towards it to motion for the other to come in. “well we can’t be making out in front of them,” he quirked his brow, “unless you’re not opposed to doing it. i don’t mind.” he honestly didn’t care much, but he did enjoy the other’s company – it wasn’t as though their relationship was a complete sham. they were both in the same position and both companies thought that it was the best thing for them at the point in time. “getting married is a lil’ far fetched... but let’s do it. you have any venues in mind?” he asked, taking a seat on his couch as he pats the empty spot next to him. “c’mon baby, time to get cosy.” he grinned as he teased the other lightheartedly.

—𝐭𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲 when his parents had asked threatened him to go through with the marriage announcement; it took him completely by surprise. it’s not like it was the first he was hearing about it but he’d thought he’d made his position on the matter clear. he’d even attempted to meet his parents half way and, begrudgingly, went along when they told him “we won’t take no for an answer until you at least meet up with her”. so he had, he’d gone out with her to please his parents; in hopes that they would finally just accept that he didn’t want to do it. even going behind jaeson’s back and purposefully omitting that information to do so. and, today when they again refused to take a no, he’d stood firm in his stance. that was, until they threatened to use their influence to turn jaeson’s life upside down. that was enough to get him to comply.

as he stood there, feeling both defeated and exhausted, the frustration he’d been holding back all day suddenly started resurfacing. it’s not that he didn’t understand where the other was coming from. he even tried to stifle his anger by reminding himself, over and over in his mind, that jaeson didn’t deserve to have bottled up anger taken out on him. yet, in his state, it felt beyond his control. “what do you want me to say?” his tone is calm at first but quickly growing harsher with every word. “you think i’m happy about this?” he asks his tone borderline venomous now. “i can’t even have a say in how i want to live my own fucking life.” as strong and harsh as his sentence starts his voice cracks at the last word and tears start stinging his eyes. “fuck” he utters turning away from jaeson as he racks both hands through his hair.. he didn’t want to fight. not now. not for something he was still so furious about. otherwise he would surely say something he would later regret. “just- never mind.”

jaeson scoffed, “i want you to talk to me and tell me what the fuck is going on, taekwoon!” his eyes were red from all the tears that he shed prior and his voice was hoarse. “i just... i feel like i’m left in the dark.” all in all, he was confused. he was exhausted. “you’re suddenly in the news and you’re getting married?” he turned to face the other, his face sullen as he searched for some sort of answer in the other’s eyes. “now, what do you want me to say?” his voice wavered as he tried not to breakdown yet again, “where does that leave me, tae?”

how was he supposed to ignore the fact that his significant other was legally married to someone else? when he first got into a relationship with the other, jaeson didn’t think that things would’ve gone this far. so many things were running in his mind and his heart ached. he pinched the bridge of his nose before he massaged his temples, already feeling the headache coming as he buried his face in his palms.
