Seafarer’s Song
Long have I sailed the seas Wind and waves knowing where to. Far from all of my shores I feel that I am sorrowful Wind and waves whisper softly Of the sea and Magellan, Of the currents and tides, But I sing against these:
Who pours blood through my veins? Who sends birds over the sea? Oh, I’ve been waiting so long, without home and laden with yearning.
When the stars dawn early everything pulls me towards land. My tired eyes remain Always turned towards the harbor. When the sails no longer shine When the winds no longer blow I will, in order to come to you Traverse oceans.
Who pours blood through my veins? Who sends birds over the sea? Oh, I’ve been waiting so long, without home and laden with yearning.
I come to you My breath, my hands hot The ice melts from my eyes I come to you My breath, my hands hot The ice melts from my eyes
Who pours blood through my veins? Who sends birds over the sea? Oh, I’ve been waiting so long, Full of longing, for so long already without home and laden with yearning.
You pour embers through my veins. You send birds over the sea. You build bridges to the shores for me, You send birds over the sea For the seafarer’s return.
