Today we celebrate one of the most incredible men I knew. And I knew him as Ken, my dad. ⠀⠀ Even though biologically I wasn’t his, he raised me as if I was. Through good times, and bad, he was there. ⠀⠀ The day I heard of his motorcycle accident, my entire world came crashing down around me. He was the person I went to with all my problems, and he’d give me advice with the most level head. ⠀⠀ His big bear hugs, and the kiss I got on the top of my head in that hug...nothing compares. ⠀⠀ His infectious smile and laugh. The way he’d lend a helping hand while expecting nothing in return, his voice, the way he smelled...all things I miss every single day. ⠀⠀ It still feels like it was yesterday. And every year when this day comes, I can’t believe another year has passed. ⠀⠀ I wish Talon could have met you. You guys would be off on fishing trips without me and motorcycle rides 😂 I’d probably never see my husband haha This is one of my favorite photos of us on a camping trip when I was younger. I keep it on my desk and it makes me smile every time I see it. ⠀⠀ I miss you Ken. You were the best Dad I could have ever asked for. I miss you so much, and I love you! Today we celebrate you.
