It's Christmas time! Everyone is getting ready with last minute shopping and baking. Are you ready?
🎁Sehyoon: ✂️
“Why do we have so many gifts to wrap, Sehyoon?” My eyes darting to the insane amount of gifts scattered across the room. He smiles happily and shrugs, “We needed something for everyone close to us.”
“Soo, you bought the whole store?” I laugh and ask, jokingly. He blushes and I wrap my arms around his neck, pecking his cheek. “Come on, let’s get started.”
The smile spreading across his face is the cutest and he breaks away, hurrying towards the wrapping paper and supplies. Before I can even move, he’s taken it all and placed it beside the presents on the floor. I take a seat and grab a few things, wondering what all he had bought today. “Don’t cut yourself on the scissors, they’re sharp.” He smiles, knowing I’m clumsy.
Smirking and rolling my eyes, I pick up a bottle. “Sehyoon? Who is the wine for?”
Hearing him laugh, I know my answer. “Donghun, but you knew that already right?” I nod, seeing a sleeve of wrapping paper made for bottles. I grab it and put the bottle in, setting it to the side so he can make the bow.
The next thing I pick up is one of those newer polaroid cameras, “Chan and his girl?” I laugh. Sehyoon looks at me and nods. Wanting to wrap this one, I place it to the side and lay out some gift wrap but I drop it and watch it roll away from me. Fixing it, I get the size I need and then grab the tape dispenser…dropping it while I have the tape itself in my hand. I sigh.
The dispenser falls to the floor and bending down to grab it, I accidentally kick it. I move to get it and Sehyoon scares me, making me kick it again.. Ending up wrapped in the tape, I give up.
“Sehni…” I grumble, “I need your help.” He looks up at me and gummy smiles.
Standing up, I hear his chuckle under his breath, “What in the world did you do?”
“I’m having issues.” I pout. Sehyoon grabs the end of the tape and begins unraveling me, somehow it ends up in my hair and I hiss when he pulls it away.
“Sorry. Sorry.” He takes my hair and gently pulls it out, finally getting the last strand free. Rolling the ball of tape up, he tosses it to the side and captures me in a hug. “You’re cute, do you know that?”
“How so? I literally just wrapped myself.”
“You did. That makes you my special gift this year.” He smirks.
🌨️Byeongkwan: ☃️
The sounds of my boyfriend grabbing the decorations from the garage made it seem like he was breaking so many things…
“Kwani, are you okay?” I call from the doorway.
“Yes, I’m just trying to move this crap around to get to the last box of decorations.” Though he sounds like he’s straining. Trying to hold back the urge to giggle, I cough. “Do you need some help?”
“No. No, I got this.”
I’m already walking back towards him but he finally grabs the box and steps off the ladder, looking at me triumphantly, “See? I told you I got it.”
Shaking my head, I lead the way back to the front yard, “How are we doing this?”
“Well these are the new ones. I’m not sure where they’ll go yet.”
I look at him, with wide eyes and then to the 4 other boxes we’d brought out earlier, “New ones?” He smiles and nods happily.
“You’re trying to make me freeze today.” I laugh.
“Nope,” Laughing, he puts the box down and pulls me close with a huge smile playing on his face, “We’ll do this together and then have some hot chocolate and cuddle by the fire. Okay?”
I can’t deny that sounds amazing, “Can we cuddle under the big fluffy blanket?”
“Of course.” He chuckles, poking my nose, “Now, let’s get to it.”
4 hours later:
“How many more lights are we stringing on the outside of this house? It’s not even big!” I laugh, looking at the little one bedroom house covered from top to bottom in lights and Santa legs popping out of the chimney like he’s stuck.
“That’s it for the lights! Did you finish the yard decorations?” He asks, giddily looking around.
Turning around, I motion my hand like a game show host presenting a prize. He cackles and I smile, proud I made him laugh so hard. He drapes his arm around my shoulder, kissing my head, “Let’s go get that hot chocolate now.”
🎄Jun: 📱
“Jun, I think we picked the biggest tree..” I laugh as we stand back and admire the giant mass in front of the window. The apartment isn’t very big to begin with… I think the tree takes up most of the room.
“I do too. It’s great, right? Let’s get the decorations on it!” He smiles widely, clasping his hands together. I pick up the lights and walk to one side, “How are we going to get them to the top, Jun?” Looking up, I’m not even paying attention to him until I’m being lifted from the ground. I scream, lean forward and grab onto his head for balance. “JUN!”
He chuckles, “You’re fine, baby. I promise. Now, start at the top and we’ll walk around.”
Sitting on his shoulders, I’m glad I’m not terrified of heights…. I start the lights on the top and we slowly walk them around and down until that string is completely out and we grab the next one; repeating the process.
Once the lights are on, tinsel is next and we do the same thing over again. “Am I getting heavy?” I ask, looking down into his eyes.
“Not really.” He smiles, looking up at me through his lashes. Smiling, I kiss my hand and place it on his lips to give him a kiss since I couldn’t from the way I was sitting. Now I want to actually kiss him. Twenty minutes later, the tinsel is done and we take a break to let his shoulders rest. “Are you hungry?” He asks.
“I could eat.” He nods and picks up the phone, ordering from our favorite restaurant that luckily stays open late.
Sitting the phone down and grinning, he looks at me. “We have 45 minutes to finish this tree.”
That’s a while, I think to myself. “Shouldn’t take even that long.”
“Exactly, let’s get this done so we can eat and relax.” We work diligently to make the ornaments look even and spaced out correctly, laying out the tree skirt along with the presents next. Forty minutes later, I look it over happily…”Looks good! I think we’re done.”
“No, wait wait. Something is missing.” He grumbles, putting his hand on his chin, thinking and trying to place what it is. He face palms himself a second later, “The star.”
“Oh gosh, how did you forget that?” I snort. Laughing, he pokes me in the stomach, chiding me. “Me? You were up there! How did you forget?”
Handing me the star, he hoists me on his shoulders one last time and I place it on the top, watching it light up just as the doorbell rings…”Food’s here.” He cheers, making his way to the door with me still on his shoulders. “Jun! Wait, let me down.” I laugh and try to wiggle off.
❄️Chan: ⛸️
“Do we have a gift for everyone?” Chan asks, looking in the five bags in his hands. I look over at him and laugh, “I think so? Maybe 2… You picked out more than I did.”
He starts to say something and then stops, looking around as if he’d not heard that and causing me to laugh more.
“We can go put those in the car and look around just a bit more, if you’d like?” I smile, wiping a tear from my eye. He smiles shyly and I follow him to the car, taking two of the bags from him on the way. He opens the trunk and I set my two in, looking around as snow falls while he places his bags inside. I see couples in a carriage and getting coffee then look the other way and see an ice skating rink.
“Want to try it out?” I hear in my ear and shiver, turning around. “Oh- Oh no. I’m fine..” Shaking my head in haste. I’m too clumsy and he knows this. I’d end up breaking something. “Come on, baby.” He pouts at me. I shake my head, determined to stand my ground.
“Please? We just finished Christmas shopping, it’s snowing and it’s fun. I’ll make sure you don’t fall.” Pouting at me and placing his hands on my arms and rubbing them, I feel myself giving in and look up into his eyes…Very bad idea.
“You promise you won’t let me fall?” I mumble nervously.
“I promise. Cross my heart.” He says, making the motion with his hand. I sigh and nod, “Okay. Let’s go.”
The smile on his face alone was worth it. We walk to the rink and pay, getting our skates and putting them on. I can’t lace them very well so he has to help me and I feel my face heat up. He pulls me up, holding both of my hands and I grip him like my life depends on it.
“You’re fine, I promise.” He chuckles. Dropping one of my hands and leading me onto the ice. Feeling nervous, I try to calm myself down. He turns around to face me, holding both hands again and begins pulling me along, showing me how to move correctly.
A few minutes later, I drop one of his hands and slowly move beside him steadily getting better. “See you’re doing it!” He praises. I blush and try to focus but talk to him, “I have a good teacher.”
“Maybe I should become a figure skater.”
“Oh lord. How about you jus-” I misstep and lose my balance, his hand going out to steady me but I end up pulling him down instead and landing on top of him. “Are you okay?” I ask, hoping I didn’t knock the air out of him. He laughs his dorky laugh and I smile.
“Yes, I’m okay. Are you?” He asks, tucking hair behind my ear. When I nod, he smiles and leans up, pressing his lips to mine, “Good. I need you to not be injured this Christmas.”
🍷Donghun: 💙
Rushing around on Christmas Day is a pain anyway, what makes it more troublesome is if you’re having dinner at your house that day. This year is special, with my family coming to visit for the first time since I moved in with my fiance. Our friends and families will meet…I’m a nervous wreck.
“Is everything ready?” I ask nervously, looking at the food on the counter then up at him.
“Yes. We just need to set the table and calm down.” Donghun smiles softly at me. At first, I was going to grab the dishes to set the table but I stop and stare up at him again. I wrap my arms around him and breathe in the smell of his perfume. “We’ll get through today, don’t worry.”
He says, kissing my forehead.
We break apart and I feel better about tonight and ready to set the table. The doorbell rings and I panic again. I tense up until I feel his hands on my shoulder and whispering in my ear, “Relax. It will be okay. I’ll get the door, you set the table.”
Agreeing, I set the table and hear Donghun answer the door and our friends greet him, followed by my family. Finishing up the table, I arrange the food so everyone can reach everything and hear the doorbell ring one last time. “I’ve got it.” I hear and answer the door to his family smiling at me.
Welcoming them in, I take my seat by Donghun and introduce everyone that hasn’t met yet. Leaving them to the conversation, I escape to the kitchen to set out desserts that way I can call everyone to eat.
“Guess what.” He says out of nowhere. I look at him in confusion for a second before I answer. Do I want to know? “What?” I ask. He pulls something from his black slacks and smiles, holding it above my head. I look up to see what it is and notice it’s mistletoe.
Relaxing a bit, I chuckle and shake my head. “Oh, look. We’re underneath the mistletoe, love.”
“Oh look at that!” He acts completely in shock, despite holding it up, “You know what that means right?” Eyeing it, I play along.
Christmas, mistletoe and a couple underneath it… “Hmm. I have no idea. Care to enlighten me?”
“I can.” He smiles, leaning down to place a soft kiss on my lips, “Merry Christmas, my love.”
