凄艶 THIS is a compound i’ve held onto for a long while...... i can’t exactly remember why i originally patched into it or where i got it lol. but it was read as “seien”, and meant something along the lines of “strangely alluring” or something

When I look it up, the definition says “weirdly beautiful,” which is amazing. Definitely a new fav!
The kanji by themselves are the ones used in
“sugoi” (basically means “wow” but the given meanings of the kanji are “uncanny, weird, threatening, horrible”
“glossy, luster, glaze, polish, charm, colorful, captivating“ which I also recognize because it’s read as ‘tsuya’, and every time I tried to type in the name of where I lived in Japan I got 艶 instead of 津谷 (both Tsuya)
