omg...i survived subbing this O.O my brain was close to exploding hearing three people talking at the same time and acting as dorks

Finally, a fully subbed DGS episode that you all have been waiting for!! (or at least a few of you lol) This was not easy to sub so be grateful!! xD and no, I will not be subbing full episodes for every other DGS episode...I WILL NOT survive...If you want to know, the next DGS episode I intend to sub in full is #18 when Sugita Tomokazu comes to play~

Anyway, it’s the first time a guest joins the DGS gang (and the beginning of DG5 lol) and of course, the C&D pair made sure it turns into a ‘fun’ episode for our poor guest...Also a certain N-mura seiyuu is mentioned here for the first time of many times in this show...

Some notes and Japanese language fun facts/dictionary:

Angen Youtaka (安元洋貴) - maybe a lot of you know it already but the reason Yasumoto Hiroki gained the nickname Angen Youtaka was simply because each kanji in his name was read in an alternative way...that’s it lol

Honnyarara (ほんにゃらら) - when I first heard this term, I thought it sounded like a dirty word lol. well it could be, depending on the context haha. It simply refers to the circle thing when they are trying to censor a thing or something...so in this case, Monster Hunter was Monster OO or OO Hunter and honnyarara pretty much refers to those circles...

izakaya (居酒屋) - generally means a bar or pub with food...so izakaya talk refers to what they say over drinks...which probably includes a lot of ‘unairable’ content

wakiase (脇汗) - literally means armpit sweat...I feel awkward typing ‘armpit sweat’ every time they mention it so I just left it as wakiase... a famous trademark of OnoD, as you shall learn in subsequent episodes...Also this term first appeared in Episode 8. I subbed that part, go check it out~

kamu (噛む) - most basic meaning is to bite or chew (food), but in the seiyuu world, this refers to tripping over words, or fumbling over words etc...everytime a seiyuu makes a mistake in his script, this word comes up often...other variations you might hear are kamikami, kanjau, kanda etc

[RadioSubs] Star Radi-Ocean #1

Nakamura found a kouhai to bully on air on a weekly basis...

First all all, Happy Chinese New Year everyone. It’s been quite a busy week, going from dinners to dinners even though I’m overseas and not at home lol (I just happen to have some friends to celebrate CNY with...). But since I’ve been driving a lot, I’m also listening to quite a bit of radio too. And hence this episode~

Well most of the non-DGS related radio stuff I’ve uploaded have something to do with Nakamura Yuuichi so it should be no surprise that I love listening to him on radio. When I knew that he’s FINALLY going to have regular radio show I pretty much jumped onto it. Also Ishikawa Kaito’s voice has a similar voice tone to Nakamura Yuuichi’s, so two god-like voices in one radio is seriously...*kyuun~* (of course Yuukyan stays at my No.1 spot xD)

I’m gonna try subbing the full episode every week...though that’s gonna be quite crazy considering each episode is almost 30 minutes...but I’m gonna try anyway. As for the game, I’m definitely considering getting it for PS3...i just don’t know how I’m gonna get the Japanese version lol. This first episode is mostly unedited, but from the next episode I might cut out title calls and maybe the news part that I was too lazy to translate...saves me some storage data and encoding time...The first episode is mostly the game information so probably not that interesting, but I’ve listened to the second episode and it’s pretty interesting xD Also...there are quite a number of parts where I simply don’t know how to translate them into English because there is simply no good translation for the Japanese terms they use. For those confusing parts, please just listen to their beautiful voices... m(_ _)m

But anyway, I thought I’ll just include some language notes here since I’ve heard those words so many gazillion times...hopefully you guys learned new Japanese words from this lol...

Let’s learn some Japanese~

生真面目 (kimajime) - this is the official description for Victor, Nakamura’s character, meaning someone who is too serious. ‘majime’ is a rather common description of people I believe, but add ‘生 (ki)’ to it, the person becomes extremely serious. In the radio, they were discussing something about 根は真面目 (ne wa majime) and to be honest, I’m not completely sure what they are trying to say. but ‘ne’ means root, so I’m guessing a completely serious person or whatever, or it could just be a word play on 羽根 (hane, meaning feathers) since they were talking about Victor’s hair highlights that look like red feathers...

-殿 (-dono) - this is similar to the -san, -kun, -chan, etc added to people’s names. But -dono is a rather formal way of addressing someone, something we hear perhaps from samurais or soldiers etc...honestly, I don’t think I’ve heard actual Japanese people use the term before...

呼び捨て (yobisute) - and in complete opposite to the previous, take out all the   -san, -kun, -chan, -dono, etc and that is basically yobisute. So it will like saying Nakamura instead of saying Nakamura-san. I don’t know, I hear this term pretty common and if you are not familiar with the culture of Japan, it is hard to understand why there is even such a thing lol. but yeah, this term is kinda common...

ちらっ (chira) - this is more like a sound effect than a word. It’s kind of like saying *glance* or *peek*

Finally I’m done with traveling. Hopefully I can upload radio stuff on a more regular basis...

In this episode, we listen to various suggestions for Hiroshi’s nicknames. Personally, I really like Eroshi but obviously that was rejected by the man himself... I also included another small part after the nicknames talk because that part will link to Episode 10′s title and some content.

On a side note...Sometimes I come across Japanese words where the translation of the word takes up way too much space. There is a lot of meaning in a single kanji and if I include the full translation into the subs, I feel it throws the entire meaning of the sentence off...So here I thought I’d include a section, wherever necessary, to explain certain commonly used words, or at least words I often hear in radio so that I can skip writing footnotes at the top of each episode I sub...Some of the words may be overly-familiar to you all, but I thought I’ll just include them here so next time it will be easier for people to understand.

Let’s learn some Japanese! [temporarily tagged as #seiyuu dictionary]

buttobasu [ぶっ飛ばす] = to send someone flying in a fighting context. I usually use ‘to beat up someone’ in my subs because it’s easier to understand, but the actual meaning is ‘to send someone flying’. Hiroshi seems to like using this phrase.

eroi/sukebe [エロい/スケベ] = horny/perverted and the likes

aniki [兄貴/アニキ] = elder brother/senior [update: I later realized that at the part where i thought Hiroshi said ‘aniki’, it was actually ‘ariki’, which means ‘originating from something or based on something’...but anyway, aniki is a common word, and I know it’s a mistake, but I’m too lazy to edit it -.- I hope it doesn’t change too much meaning in the episode...]

dai-(senpai) [大先輩] = dai in this context means great, big, more than the usual. So in this video, dai-senpai (Kamiya Akira) is a veteran kind of senior to HiroC & OnoD

nayami [悩み] = problems, issues faced, certain trouble or distress a person is facing
