Samus was probably coming off as awkward as anyone could at a dance. Hanging out by herself, not interacting with others, and certainly not dancing (mainly because she had no dancing skills whatsoever). She, however, was a bit thirsty and went to go get some punch for herself, bumping her elbow into someone as she was using the scoop to pour her punch into a cup. “Sorry. I didn’t see you there.”

The sound of Dunban’s deep voice suddenly coming from behind her surprises her for a moment, but she quickly relaxes once more and just nods at the man as he approaches.

“Yes, I’m quite all right. I just needed to think, and I assumed that a place like this would offer me the peace I needed to do so.”

Of course, she knew that now the question on Dunban’s mind would be “what are you thinking about?”, so she decided to answer that question before it could even be asked.

“I was thinking... About how I will be expected to lead the High Entia people one day. It is a task I have spent many years training for, and yet I still find myself plagued with periods of self-doubt, wondering if I am truly ready for such a task.”
