I’ve also started that Tavern AU. 

It features a space-pirate admiral Tony at the World’s End Inn, and he seems to be pathologically incapable of not correcting people who don’t address him by the correct title.

“Well, that’s interesting. You’re the first version of you who hasn’t recognized me, and started off either with insults or lewd innuendo.”

Somehow, it was reassuring to think of alternate versions of himself making even worse first impressions. Then his brain stopped short. “Versions of me?”

“Multiple universes have sent their lost to this place, in its very long life. Rest assured, in your native one, you’re still as unique as ever; it’s just that your universe itself isn’t. Welcome to the World’s End Inn, Mr. Stark-”

“Admiral.”

Loki raised an eyebrow. “Admiral?”

“Are other versions of me not leaders in the worlds of intergalactic piracy?”

A long, considering moment passed. “Most of them seemed to still live on Midgard––or Earth, as they insist on correcting me. I haven’t met any other smuggler versions of you.”

“Piracy,” Tony corrected him. “I’ve got a full armada now, and we are actually quite diversified in our enterprises, and we do a lot more than just smuggling, thank you very much. Also I haven’t been back to Earth in… twenty-one years? Anyway, it’s not like I was born there. And I still dunno who you are, by the way.”

FIC: Don’t Hate the Player Hate the Pantheon

Chapter: 1/? Rating: Not Smutty (yet) Word Count:  about 7,100-ish Warnings: Flagrant amorality, varying degrees of psychosis, abuse of Marvel canon, twisting of Norse and Celtic mythology to suit my own evil whims, a bit of sex, and a lot of snark. Welcome to the S. S. Frostiron.

Summary: Loki is in the depths of bitterness after two failed relationships and a few family secrets weighing heavy on his mind, but at least he was right about how Alfheim was a powder-keg ready to go off in the Roman Empire's face. He could've warned his family, but didn't, about a number of things. This catches the attention of the charismatic rebel leader who kicked Rome in the teeth, and makes him rather curious what else Asgard's younger prince hasn't been telling people about, but being stark-raving obvious about his interest isn't safe, ever since Loki helped him free of his father's last fetters of control over him.

And what happens when Rome stops being a problem for the mortals Cern has educated and protected, and raiders who wear images of Thor's hammer and make great sacrifices to Odin start to show up in their yards instead?

Another since it's quiet this evening: Frostiron! If God/Mortal wasn't enough of a difference, wooing another God from a RIVAL parthenon is even tougher. Asgard's attention wanes for a brief decade & those fickle Midgardians are praying to another host of pagan Gods hailing from a realm not connected to Yggdrasil. Thor is sent to win back viking hearts & Loki is secretly sent to spy on (*cough* sabotage) the competition's most popular deity but oh no he's hot (and perceptive and... flirty?!?)

Oooh, I LOVE this. Egad, how to pick a pantheon that could handle Tony?

Well… it might not quite work with actual Earth history, but in an alternate history where the Druids actually wrote shit down sometimes and their religion competed on more equal footing with christianity in some regions, maybe?

I happen to have all this Arthurian, celtic, and druidic stuff kicking around in my skull, which I’ve collected both from reading too much Hellblazer in my life, and also listening to a number of history podcasts during my workdays over the past several months. Perhaps Tony could earn the deer-related nicknames this time.
