Two years ago @mollyringwald read my work from #womeninclothes @symphonyspace for #selectedshorts She is an amazing actress and woman and writer and singer. This photo popped up in FB memories, and I remember how I got the email asking if she could read my work (!) while I was at the playground with Vera, how I sat in the audience with Ken that night, in velvety seats holding his hand as she read about us, how it felt delightful and strange, how I cried, how the audience really got it, how they laughed, how @mxviv was the only one to laugh at the Peggy Shaw reference, how great all the readers were @mxviv reading about "the dress" had the audience on the edge of our seats, how Molly was so gracious and said she had emailed me at some old email that apparatmtly was floating around the Internet. Now I see this and I want to send her that whole long piece, she only read an edited version. My whole life all I have wanted was more women's voices in the air, on the page, that we be seen for our complexity. With my #fuckcancer its hard to practice self care, hard to remember that my voice matters. I hope our collective voices rise up in this election and we all know that women's rights are human rights once and for all. #imwithher #spiritcooking #feministart
