WHERE: Astoria Campus WHEN: 5/30/19 — 1:34pm WHO: Selena Ivy / @lenxivy
August had never spent much time in Rapid City before as there was no point in it for him. But ever since the murders he found himself drawn to Astoria for some reason, as well as the other two locations the bodies had been found, but those locations felt so much more discreet than this. This spot one, in particular, seemed to pull him in and hold his attention for some unknown reason, perhaps it was due to how very public the scene had been. He wanted to understand better what was happening, why all hell had suddenly seemed to break loose and most importantly who was behind it all. He didn’t want to admit it aloud, but the old wolf had settled into Hill City nicely and he wasn’t going to pack his bags and turn tail so quickly.
To say he felt out of place among the student bustling about to make it to their next class—or whatever it was college students did these days would be an understatement. Yet there he was, lurking about where the Dean’s body had been found as if he’d really be able to sniff out a clue someone else had missed. He might have been good, but even he wasn’t that good. August knew it wasn’t possible, but he found himself with so much free time lately and he wasn’t willing to sit there idly either.
He hadn’t told Celeste what he was up to, but that was only because he didn’t want her to stop him and if she didn’t know what he was up to, she couldn’t very well command him to cease. A heavy sigh escaped him as he turned his back on the spot he’d been staring at for nearly an hour only to find himself colliding with another.
“That’s on me,” he replied gruffly as his critical gaze settled on whoever it was he just as easily could have knocked down, but thankful he didn’t. “Sorry,” August finally said almost forgetting it was what one was supposed to say. Apologies were something he was still far from understanding let alone mastering them.
