Ever since I reread augus's POV on slow I've been trying to be a lot gentler with myself (slower shower, not rushing through washing my hair, savoring my food, letting myself think of nice things instead of work, reading things slower and sinking myself into the emotion...) and I wanted to thank you. I know augus has different reasons for going slow, but it just really reminded me that in life, sometimes I just need to slow down and enjoy the moment sometimes. Thanks pia :)
Ahhhh that’s so very awesome, anon.
I think it’s really cool to experiment with things like self-sensuality (and I don’t even mean in a remotely sexualised sense, like people can do that if they like, but sensuality at its foundation is not about sex and is about touch and intimacy and appreciation).
One of the things I’ve always really loved about Augus is that his confidence in his appearance and his general self (despite his issues) means that he has no problems being sensual, intimate, affectionate to himself. He is literally happy just giving himself love, or receiving love. I honestly think it’s something we lack in the multiple touch-starved cultures of the world, because the body has been marketed as something we need to fix or change, or religion says it’s base and sinful, or basically we’re subtly (and unsubtly) encouraged to see our body as an enemy instead of a friend and a gift.
So hearing that you’re trying out slowing down as a way of being kinder to yourself is really awesome? Slowing down and enjoying the moment and yourself in the moment is, imho, really healthy (though like I’m not a doctor and your mileage may vary and all of that stuff).
And, tbh, as much as Augus doesn’t care about humans much he would be pretty happy to learn that others were picking up that side of his life because I think it’s one of the things he generally thinks ‘why doesn’t everyone else do this though?’
You know what? Like your own goddamn posts if you want to. They're yours. You're allowed to like yourself, and what you do/post is an extension of YOU my friend. And if you feel silly liking/reblogging your own posts, know that I'm totally 100% cool with it. Like yourself! Too many people struggle with self love! But I like you! And you should too! <3
when's the last time you kissed yourself all over?
