The bell above the Weathervane’s door chimed, and Tyler looked up from the espresso machine, brushing a stray lock of honey-brown hair out of his eyes. It had been a long day, the kind where every latte felt the same and every customer blurred together. But then, you walked in.
You always had that effect on him.
“Rough day?” you teased as you leaned against the counter, resting your chin in your hand. Your smile carried warmth he didn’t even realize he craved until he saw it.
“You could say that,” he admitted with a soft laugh, tugging at the string of his apron. “I think half the town is powered purely by caffeine.”
“Half the town, or just me?” you asked, arching a brow playfully.
Tyler shook his head, a grin tugging at his lips. “Just you. But I don’t mind. You’re my favorite customer.”
The words slipped out before he could stop them, and his ears turned pink. He quickly turned to pour your drink, hoping you didn’t notice.
Of course, you noticed. You always did.
“Favorite customer, huh?” you said softly, watching the way his hands moved with surprising care as he crafted your usual order. He wasn’t just making coffee; he was making something for you. And you swore it always tasted better when he made it.
When he finally slid the cup toward you, the foam was decorated with a shaky but earnest little heart.
Your chest tightened. “Tyler…”
He rubbed the back of his neck, embarrassed. “Yeah, okay, maybe it’s cheesy. But—uh—you make things better, you know? Even on the rough days.”
The café noise seemed to fade in that moment, leaving just the two of you standing in the glow of the Weathervane’s warm lights. You reached over the counter, fingers brushing his. “That’s funny. Because you do the same thing for me.”
His grin broke into something wider, softer—completely unguarded. For once, it wasn’t the practiced smile he wore for strangers. This one was only for you.
“Tell you what,” he said, voice a little husky, “when I’m off, how about I walk you home? Coffee in hand, favorite customer privileges and all.”
You lifted your cup, taking a sip. “Deal. But only if you admit the real reason you like making my drinks.”
He laughed, leaning closer over the counter so you could hear the sincerity in his whisper:
Newt and Thomas but instead of a self insert fanfic of either of them as your romantic partner it's NEWTMAS as dads and you are self inserted as their baby/child, who's with me?

Is your req open? If so, then can we see Sigma's reaction to oblivious y/n getting closer to Nikolai and him getting jealous?
Idk how many months ago you must’ve sent that I’m so sorry but if you’re still around… (😭)
Warnings; a bit suggestive
Reverence (Sigma)
Nikolai had to be doing this on purpose.
He spent the whole day with you, using the excuse of work, but instead goofing off with you, keeping a hand on you at all times, and worst of all, making sure Sigma saw it. At dinner time, when Sigma finally thought he’d get some time alone with you, he sat beside you, throwing his hand across your shoulder.
“You guys didn’t tell me we were having a company dinner!” Nikolai chimed.
You smiled politely, but Sigma slammed his fork on the table. “That’s because it was supposed to be a date.”
“A date? Then what are you doing here, Sigma? Leave me and [name] alone.” Nikolai pulled you closer, laughing as if he had just made the funniest joke in the world. That much was fine, but it broke something inside Sigma when he saw you giggle a little at that too.
“Fine.” He stood up, having had enough. “You two enjoy.”
He walked out of the restaurant, still telling the manager to put the bill on his tab, knowing you didn’t mean anything bad by it. You’d never purposely do anything to hurt him, you just didn’t understand what he was trying. And still, that did not help reduce the pain. It hurt so much that as soon as he was out of the establishment, he had to put a hand on the wall outside, taking it all in. Did he just lose you?
Sure, whatever, you’re better off with him anyway.
Nikolai was funnier, he had more personality, he had more experience, he had-
“Hey!” You broke Sigma out of his thoughts, looking up at him concerned. He only glanced at you, looking down again, half his balance resting on his hand that leaned on the wall.
“Are you in pain, Sig?” You took his hand off the wall and held it with yours instead, the other on his shoulder. He didn’t want to throw his whole weight on you, so he tried to stand up taller. Somehow, his head remained heavy and bowed, almost like in reverence to you. A prayer to you, ‘please don’t leave me’.
“Yeah, I’m hurt.” He felt guilty if it seemed he blamed you for it, but he needed your comfort.
“How?” The concern and confusion in your voice was enough to make him melt. You didn’t even realise you were the one who was tearing a hole in his being. And even if you did, he’d gladly take a bullet if you were the one shooting it. For now, he wasn’t sure what to say to you. He didn’t want to be the kind of boyfriend who’d tell you not to hang out with someone you laughed with.
“I want to be the one who makes you laugh.” He confessed, unable to say he was jealous. But his clear eyes and heart gave everything away, bringing a smile to your face.
You threw your arms around Sigma’s neck, as he instinctively circled your waist with his own. “Nikolai only makes me laugh with his jokes.” You leaned up for a kiss, and Sigma shyly closed the distance between the two of you, his hands holding you tight, and lips softly taking in yours.
He soon desperately leaned in for more, but you pulled away, melting at his puppy eyes. “But you, make me red with just one look, breathless with your presence, and senseless with your touch. No one else can do that.” You pulled him in for a kiss again, whispering. “It’s only you.”
Your sweet words were enough for Sigma. He was a fool for ever thinking you’d leave him for anyone, let alone Nikolai. Although the two of you were in public, he took you in deeper, not able to get enough of you with just kisses, his tongue meeting yours, hands grabbing your hair and hips, as if he’d never let you go again.
“Seriously, get a room.” An annoyed voice spoke from behind. Sigma opened his eyes, and glared daggers at Nikolai, only earning a chuckle out of him as he left. It looked like he’d have to find a new couple to torment.

And could that new couple be fyodor and…. Part 2 anyone?

A frustrated sigh passed Klaus's lips as he tossed the book he had been reading on the coffee table between him and Y/N. The thud that came from the book had been loud enough to cause a light echo to carry throughout the room. It caused an eyebrow to raise on Y/N's face as she watched him begin to pace the short distance in front of him.
"Do I even want to know what has you on the brink of a murder spree?" Y/N asked, never taking his eyes on him.
If anyone else had said something like that to him, Klaus would have snapped at her for the simple comment. Instead, she received a glare before he looked away from her. A scoff passed his lips as he shook his head.
The two had only known each other for a handful of years. Yet they were close in many ways that Klaus couldn't even compare to him and his siblings. The start of this friendship isn't anywhere near being rainbows and sunshine either. It was more like heartbreak and death than anything else.
After Klaus found out how to properly make hybrids, the L/N pack had been forced to become hybrids. Much like the other members of the pack, Y/N hated Klaus for numerous reasons. But one of them had been for a different reason altogether.
Not only was Y/N a wolf, but she had ties to magic from her mother. And when Klaus forced her to become a hybrid, she had been afraid of losing that touch with her magic. Somewhere within the time of her dying and drinking the doppelganger's blood, the ancestors deemed her worthy to keep that hold on her magic.
When she completed the transition, she had been the only one of the hybrids that turned without the sire bond being forced upon them. It made Y/N challenge Klaus several times in all things. And for a brief moment in time, Klaus had truly been afraid of the woman.
Y/N had brought Klaus down to his knees during a match to become the Alpha of the pack. Klaus had believed she'd lose quickly, but that hadn't been the case. She had been on the verge of killing him when he offered her a truce.
A truce that would keep her pack safe from any harm and how he would swear he'd never to use her or turn his back on her and the pack. While Klaus kept his word, it was her pack that ended up turning their backs on her, leading to their death. It left Y/N as the last remaining member of the pack.
After Klaus left for New Orleans, Y/N had gone her own way leaving Mystic Falls in her rearview mirror just as he had. For the first time in her life, she had been free. Free from being tied down to a pack, tied to a coven, and even from being Klaus's right hand woman. And her time away had been spent enjoying herself on an adventure of rediscovering herself.
Y/N had been across the world when she received Klaus's phone call. While she hadn't been surprised he had been reaching out to her, it was the fact that he was calling and not sending the occasional text to check in on her. And when she heard he needed help with not only one faction, but all three in order to bring his daughter home and keep her safe, Y/N dropped everything and left.
She knew the secret that the Mikaelsons kept when it came to Hope. Klaus had trusted Y/N in many ways and when it came to the secret of Hope's life and helping to keep her safe, Y/N was the person he'd go to first. With the time for Hope to return approaching, Y/N knew that she needed to be there to help him.
"I'm not sure if you haven't noticed, but I'm rather neck deep in countless people I would just love to murder as of right now." He noted as he looked over at her. "However that doesn't stop the enormous pain in my side that is this wedding and the potential threat that looms over it."
The slightest mention of the wedding had Y/N's face fall. She knew how important it was to the Crescent wolves. She just wished she hadn't allowed her feelings to get entangled within it all. Attempting to cover up the slight hurt that formed, she quickly tried to change the subject.
"Remind me again why I am here?" She asked with a small smirk pulling at her lips. When Klaus said nothing, the smirk grew. "Right, I'm here because you've asked me to come and help with not only making this city safe for Hope but also help out with your baby mama drama. Which I might add, has gone smoothly given that I've been able to keep the both of you from tearing into each other."
Another scoff passed Klaus's lips as he came to a stop right in front of her. "I do believe you came here to help me. I don't ever recall asking you to fall in love with a wolf while you are here. Though I must say that it sure does add quite the dramatics to our lives."
His words made Y/N bite the inside of her cheek. So much for keeping the subject off of the wolves. Klaus hadn't been wrong in the slightest. Y/N never thought that in coming here she'd somehow mingle with the Crescents, let alone fall for their Alpha.
Y/N was supposed to convince the wolves she'd help them instead of the witches. That she had the potential to find them the right spell that would help stop them from being vulnerable until the full moon. But that all changed when she started spending more time with Jackson.
The more time she spent with Jackson when Hayley was out dealing with Mikaelson business, the more she felt welcomed by him and the pack. Sure she was a tribrid and most, if not all of the pack was scared of what she could do. Especially if she was considered Klaus's best friend. But it was Jackson who had shown her and them that she was more like them than anything else.
"Wouldn't my involvement still be considered a win for you?" She crossed her arms over her chest. She watched as his eyebrow raised before she continued. "You'd get the wolves on your side either way, right? You also wouldn't have to deal with your brother brooding on a daily basis since Hayley would be able to be with since it's clearly sparked something within him."
She was rambling at this point. She was trying to make everything make sense to her. How all of this would benefit the Mikaelsons more than anyone or anything else. It was one of the reasons she was called to New Orleans in the first place and she was helping in any way that she could.
But why was it that once the words had left her mouth, she felt as though worry and guilt had weighed her down? That as much as she loved and cared for the Mikaelsons, there was a new found love that had her scared in ways that she couldn't believe herself. And part of her knew that while she was considered one of the most powerful beings on the earth, she was going to be the one broken at the end of this.
Klaus could see the whiles turning in her mind long after she had stopped speaking. He walked over to her and placed his hands on her shoulders. The action itself caused Y/N to look up at him and within her eyes, he could see how she was struggling with this.
"That can only work if he returns those feelings for you, love." He knew his words wouldn't make things anything better at that moment. But she needed to hear them from someone. He wasn't angry with her for wanting to be with Jackson. He wasn't angry that she was spending more time out in the bayou recently. But he knew how things were between Jackson and Hayley at the moment. "I have seen you many things, Y/N. I've seen the fire in your eyes when you are determined to have something. I've seen the kindness you've shown my family when you didn't need to. But this look," He said as he looked into her eyes. "this fear that you have won't go away until you make it known to him. Otherwise, come next week, it will be you and my brother standing off on the sidelines watching as the people you love get married."
Her chest tightened at his words. "What if everything falls apart when I do? This marriage is everything you need to keep Hope safe and here in New Orleans. Yes, I could easily offer myself as the replacement and the wolves would still be free. But what if I do tell him everything I feel and none of this works in your favor?"
Klaus sighed but allowed his hands to give a gentle and reassuring squeeze to her shoulders. "You truly have forgotten yourself in this. While your loyalty to my family has always been appreciated, it is your friendship that I value more. And as a friend, I prefer to have you be happy than worry about the mess that continuously finds a way into my life.” He let go of her shoulders and took a few steps away from her. “You aren’t alone in this heartache. I know my brother, he’ll go to her beforehand. I suggest you do the same.”
_____
The week leading up to the wedding, Y/N had plenty of time to tell Jackson her feelings. She had plenty of moments where they were laughing away to be able to open herself up and just to talk to him about it. But every time she had, her mind would shut down and refuse to give up the information she so much wanted to let out.
And now, she was standing in front of the mirror adding to the last touches to her attire. The sounds of people talking in the distance as they waited for the wedding to begin. She could hear some of the words they were saying as she took a deep breath and looked at herself one last time in the mirror. When she could no longer make any more adjustments, she figured that was the queue to stop hiding away.
Y/N had every intention of keeping her feelings to herself and just allow things to go as Fate wanted them. However, when she took a step outside of her room, she found Elijah stepping out of his. And it was as their eyes landed on each other that they realized they were almost looking at a different version of themselves.
Y/N had to look away and blink back the slight tears that wanted to form within her eyes. How similar they both must have felt as they left the comfort of their own rooms to come out for this. It wasn’t just hard for her to do. The way her heart tightened just proved that this felt like the end of things.
When she looked back towards Elijah, he gave her a slight smile and nod of his head. A silent way of saying he understood what she was going through. And as he turned and began making his way down the hall, Y/N wasn’t sure if she could go through with watching Jackson get married if she didn’t at least say something.
She could sit there and watch if afterwards he still chose Hayley. She could sit there and be happy for the both of them if this was what he really wanted. But she wouldn't know that sense of peace if she didn't get the heavy feeling off of her chest.
As she made her way down the stairs, the chatter coming from the guests grew louder in her ears. But it never muffled the sound of her heart beating within her chest. It was almost as loud as the thoughts that were playing through her mind. All of it was coming as a blur of emotions as she made her way towards the guest bedroom that Jackson was currently in.
Coming to a stop in front of the door to the room had silenced it all. Her mind seemed clear as any other day that had passed. And as she looked at the door, she knew this was now or never. She could walk away and he’d never know or she could knock on the door and face the fears that built up within her.
Y/N’s hand lifted as she moved to knock on the door. But every time her knuckles were about to hit the wood, she’d stop. She’d freeze with the nerves that were flowing through her body at what she was attempting to do. Part of her knew this was the right thing to do. Part of her knew that this was going to be the last chance she’ll have.
I know my brother, he’ll go to her beforehand. I suggest you do the same.
Klaus’s words were supposed to be encouraging. And if Y/N had been honest with herself, they had encouraged her to attempt to talk to Jackson a few times, but the words never came out. But seeing Elijah and hearing Klaus’s words play on a loop in her head, it made her stand right where she was. She was to pour her heart out in a way that may be deemed unacceptable to many people and she no longer cared. So why was it so hard to let her knuckles hit the door?
Maybe it was the fear of rejection that she was going to be asking him to not get married. To not complete the rituals that would bound him and Hayley in order for the pack to become hybrids. She knew what she was going to be asking and even if it wasn’t fair, she needed to get it off of her chest.
Taking a deep breath, she raised her hand once more before letting her knuckles hit the door a few times. Her heart began to beat faster as the seconds passed. She ran her hand along her cheek, almost getting ready to turn and walk away when the door opened.
“Y/N.” There was a hint of surprise in Jackson’s voice as he took her in. “Everything okay?”
For as much as the sight of Jackson should have calmed her rapidly beating heart, it didn’t. The normal comfort she had found within his presence was there, but the anxiety she felt in that moment wouldn’t leave.
“I was hoping that we could talk?” She tried to keep her voice even, but even Jackson could pick up on the slight changes.
“Yeah, come on in.” He said with a nod of his head as he moved aside to let her into the room.
As she walked in, she could see his suit jacket hanging off the changing wall. Her eyes quickly moved away from it as she walked further in. She could hear the way Jackson closed the door and hear his footsteps as he walked towards her.
“Everything okay?” He asked as he watched her movements.
In the time since he met Y/N, he’d never seen her like this. She’d be open and full of life, even if the worst things in life happened to her. In the way she carried herself, it was as if something was weighing her down. He could see that something was clearly wrong that made her hesitant to even begin to talk to him.
Her ears easily picked up on Elijah’s footsteps not too far from there or the way the gentlest of knocks came moments later. If Elijah could bear his heart to the woman he loved to try and convince her not to go through with this wedding, she could do the same. Taking a deep breath, she turned around to face him.
“I’m hoping that you’ll keep an open mind as I tell you something.” She bit down on the inside of her lips for a moment as her eyes landed on his. “It’s not easy for me to do this, especially today and I would never do it unless I thought it was absolutely necessary.”
Worry filled Jackson as he took in her words. It wasn’t long before he was standing right in front of her after his feet started moving. "Is something happening? Whatever it is, you can tell me."
A weak chuckle passed her lips as she shook her head. "Talking to you any other day is so easy, I think that's what makes what I'm about to say so hard to get out." She watched as he tried to speak but she quickly continued. "Before coming to New Orleans, the only resemblance of family I had left was the Mikaelsons. It wasn't by choice in the beginning but we became close.”
She watched as Jackson’s eyes stayed on her as she began her thought process. If she could at least start somewhere, she could get to where she needed to be to be able to tell him her feelings. And if explaining the past she had was the way to start it, she’d hold onto that.
Jackson had heard Y/N explain a few times about her time in Mystic Falls. He always listened to how she had been able to stand up to the Hybrid and made even the man who believed to be unkillable, fear for his life. For Y/N to even begin whatever it was she wanted to talk about with that story, Jackson knew it wasn’t easy for her.
It was why he didn’t say anything when she stopped to catch her breath for a moment. It’s why he didn’t stop listening to her as she ran her hand along her face for a moment. Things he’d do with anyone else that asked him to listen. But something within him knew, whatever she’d say would change things.
“And then coming here,” Y/N took a deep breath of air. Something to fill her lungs at the feeling of herself drowning in her emotions. “You made it seem so easy to be accepted. To be a part of this family that you’ve known your whole life. You made me feel cared for and loved in ways that I had never experienced before. Something that I never expected to come from being Klaus’ best friend. Yet you did.
“Maybe I am stupid or I’ve read the signs wrong. But I’m hoping that you feel the same way when I say that you shouldn’t go through with this.” She watched as Jackson took a step towards her and she placed her hand up to stop him. To allow her to finish what she had to say before he did or said anything. “I understand that you need to do this for not only the pack, but to ensure that the woman you’ve grown to care for and her daughter are safe. But I want to be selfish for once, Jack. So I’m asking you not to do this. Don’t marry Hayley.”
Jackson ran his hand along his face as he took in the last of her words. Words that he never believed he’d get to hear her say. While he never said anything to anyone, he knew exactly how she felt. How he had felt that he found himself the more Y/N had been around. He was struggling in ways he never believed he would.
Hayley was everything he needed to be able to unite the packs. A way to free them from not only the control of the witches, but from Klaus. Hayley was the person his parents believed would be a perfect match for him in doing so. Jackson believed that this was the smart and safe choice to make.
But when it came to Y/N, he was different. He wasn’t so stressed about the world around him. Y/N may have been a tribrid, but they had a lot more in common than he and Hayley had. The two could laugh for hours if they were able to. It scared him when he caught the moments that he and Y/N were so much in sync.
And in that very moment where his eyes landed on Y/N, his heart was being pulled in two different directions. Just as it had been for months as he struggled with it. A sigh passed his lips as he lifted his hand to reach out and grab her hand. His thoughts were unsure of what he’d say to her.
The second their hands clasped together, a spark ignited in between their hands forcing both of them to take a step back and forcefully pulling their hand away from the other. Their eyes instantly went to their hands. The slight welt on their skin evident that it happened. Before either of them could ask what happened, their eyes were quickly clouded as visions took over their sight.
Laughter filled their ears as images of Y/N and Jackson chasing after each other in the Bayou. The stars in the night sky are the only source of light to light up their pathway through the trees they ran past. A sense of peace and love had washed over them as they continued to laugh and joke about a few things.
A moment later, the laughing stopped and Y/N was alone. Her eyes quickly looked for Jackson as she moved through the trees. He had been there moments before and now, he was just gone.
“Jack?” Y/N’s voice was filled with worry as she looked back into the trees behind her.
She came to a stop as she turned back around looking for him. The pack’s laughter caught her ears as she walked a little faster. And when she came to a stop just at the edge of the woods, she found Jackson with Hayley. A small smile pulled at Y/N’s lips even though hurt filled her.
Instead of joining the others, Y/N took one more look at everything before she turned and left through the woods. Acceptance of the decision flowing through her, but staying in New Orleans was no longer an option. Hope would be safe and the world would move on.
But it seemed as though the moment she had gotten far enough away to no longer see or hear them without her enhanced senses, the screaming started. Part of her fought to go back. She was free, she didn’t need to return, but the other part needed to go back, to help. And when she ran back and reached the tree line once more, her heart shattered into a million pieces.
Hayley had been hunched over a body as she cried out in sorrow. Blood covered her hands and arms as she tried shaking the person back to life. But nothing she did could get it to. Y/N didn’t have to see the person to know who it was. She didn’t have to see his face to know it was Jackson that was lying there.
Y/N slowly walked over to Hayley’s side. “What happened?”
Her voice was holding back the emotions that wanted to spill. The words were calm in comparison to the feelings and thoughts she had stirring within her. Her eyes had landed on the beaten and bloodied body of Jackson and while every part of her wanted to break down and kill whoever harmed him, she wasn’t the only one grieving him in that moment.
“I couldn’t help protect him.”
The vision stopped just as quickly as it started. The woods that had been taking over their sight had been replaced with the familiar walls of the compound. The sounds of the night life and cries of grief coming from Hayley had been replaced by the subtle music and distant chattering that came from down the hall.
Jackson blinked a few times before his eyes adjusted and landed on Y/N. He could see the tears that had been flowing down her cheeks as shock took over her facial expressions. The same shock that he was sure he was displaying as he tried to make sense of what they had just seen.
He’d never experience anything like that before. He had been on the receiving end of a spell or two, but he’d never pulled into a vision like that. Especially one that told him too many things that he couldn’t get his head to wrap around. How much of it was something to take seriously and how much of it was to be interpreted in another way.
“Did you-” He could even find the words that should have followed. What was he supposed to ask her? What was he supposed to say about the possibility of his impending death? Or how was he supposed to ask if she had purposely done this? And part of him knew that wasn’t the case.
But when Y/N took a step back and shook her head as hurt began to form on her features, Jackson believed it even more that she hadn’t done this to them. She wouldn’t have been so shocked as she was if she already knew about the vision. This was something beyond either of their control.
“No.” She said softly. “I didn’t. I-” She shook her head once more before she wiped the tears from her cheek. “I should go.” She said before turning and quickly leaving the room.
“Y/N/N, wait.” Jackson said as he began following her out of the room.
She could hear Jackson following her and calling out to her, but after everything she had just seen and heard, she wasn’t ready to face the visions that were forced upon them. The details of it all played on a loop in her mind that she just needed some air for her to breathe. And the moment he almost reached her, she let her enhanced speed carry her away into the night.
_____
Y/N could have gone anywhere to try and clear her head. Bo no matter where she tried going, there was a part of her that knew none of the visions would make sense there. None of the places she went to would help her to understand the details she had seen. And if her magic was giving her more than the warning of Jackson’s death, she needed to be exactly where the vision ended.
It was how she found herself out in the Bayou. The familiar woods surrounding her before it led to where the Crescents lived. Compared to many other times that she had walked through the area, it had been lively with music and talking as everyone spent time together. Now, it was silent with everyone over at the Mikaelson compound.
The fire pit was long out from the night before, but no matter how many times Y/N looked at it, she could see the flames ablaze just as it was in the vision. And just a few feet away was where she found Hayley clinging on to Jackson’s body. Y/N came to a stop in that very spot waiting for her magic to come alive as it had earlier.
But nothing came. There were no new visions that followed. Even as he knelt down and touched the ground, allowing her to feel the dirt, there was nothing. Nothing that would tell her anything on how to possibly stop it. Or how it even happened for that matter.
The longer she stayed in that spot, the more she felt defeated. Defeated by waiting so long to tell Jackson how she felt. Defeated on how the vision played out when she couldn’t give him the answers he was wanting to know. Defeated on how there was nothing else she could physically or magically do in that moment.
Before she knew it, her body carried her over to the dock where she sat down and looked out. A sigh passed her lips as she brought herself to sit down on the dock. The sounds of the water calming to her even though her mind was racing in ways that she’d never be able to count.
“Klaus wanted to come looking for you.” He said as he came to a stop beside her. “But he wasn’t sure where to look. Something told me besides familiarity, this is where you’d be.”
There was a sinking feeling that filled Y/N as she took in his words. That she hadn’t been the only one replaying the vision over and over. Something that she had probably memorized by now with how many times her mind had conjured the images again and again.
But the one thing she hadn’t been expecting was for him to come looking for her. She had expected him to be back at the compound. She had expected to return later in the night with the party still going on. The longer she stayed out there, the more likely she would miss the festivities and crawl into the comfort of her bed.
“Shouldn’t you be at your wedding reception?” She asked a moment later. Her eyes never left the view in front of her. They never took in any of the details of Jackson as he stood there beside her.
Jackson shook his head slightly before he began moving to sit beside her. He hadn’t missed the way she looked anywhere else but at him. He hadn’t missed the way she moved over a bit to give him the room to sit beside her and give him space.
“We didn’t get married.” He said as he kept his attention on her.
The words alone had caused Y/N to quickly look over at him. There was a look of surprise on her face. With how long she had been gone and for how long she had been there, she thought for sure Jackson and Hayley would have been married by now.
When Y/N didn’t say anything, Jackson let out a small sigh. “When you came to talk to me, every part of me wanted to agree with you. To walk away from there and allow us to start our lives together because I felt the same way. I felt just as you did and I hated the thought of even hurting you in any way. But I couldn’t bring myself to back out of this marriage with Hayley. Not when it comes to our people and freeing them from anyone’s hold.” He watched as Y/N looked down at her hands before he continued. “And when I held your hand for the first time, we got that vision. One that scared me more than I care to admit.”
“I wasn’t expecting it either.” Y/N looked back up at him. “I tried coming here in hopes that I could find some way to either stop it or figure out how-” She shook her head not even wanting to think about the words that wanted to form. She couldn’t even bring herself to think about how Jackson could die, let alone when it could happen.
“After you left, which had caught a few people’s attention, Davina came and talked with me.” He watched as Y/N’s eyebrow raised. “I know, I was surprised with that as well. But apparently you let off some magical distress signal.”
Y/N had only ever done that one other time in her life. One other time where she had managed to send a distress signal while using her magic. It wasn’t something she controlled herself or even knew was there. But the first spell she had done as a Tribrid had taken a lot out of her and the witches that resided in Mystic Falls at the time knew all about it.
To hear it happened again without knowing how or when she sent it off had added to the surprises she’d been receiving tonight. It was something that she knew she was going to have to look into more. Before she had brushed it off as accidentally channeling the others. But this time she hadn’t actively been doing a spell.
“I didn’t even know I had done that.” She said with a nod of her head. “I’ve only ever done that once before and even then I didn’t know how I was doing it. But with what we saw, it wouldn’t be hard to believe that my emotions triggered it.”
Jackson nodded his head in agreement. “We both were caught off guard. I explained it as best as I could to Davina. Though the way her jaw seemed to drop was enough to tell me this wasn’t something to take lightly. Not that I ever thought it was.” A small chuckle passed his lips as he shook his head. “She told me I had a decision to make. I could do what was best for the pack and go through with the wedding. Or I could walk out of there and go find you. Have a full life that allows us to be happy without any regrets. That vision had given me everything I needed to understand both sides of it. It wasn’t you who had to do anything. It was all me. You just happened to help deliver the message.”
Y/N swallowed down the lump that began to form in her throat. Earlier she had been willing to be selfish. She had been willing to just walk away with Jackson and live their lives without caring about anyone else. But the pack was important to him and Y/N knew that.
“What about the pack?” She asked, watching his reaction. She needed to know if there were any tell signs that she had learned to see on him. She needed to know if this is really what he wanted.
Jackson lifted his hand up slowly and ran his fingers along her cheek. “The pack will be okay. We’ve dealt with worse in the last few years. And after talking with them and possibly arguing a bit, they understand that there is someone that is not only willing to help them out with magic and protection, but hopefully some time in the future, they look forward to one hell of a unification ceremony.”
For the first time that night, Y/N had smiled. A chuckle passed her lips as she did before she leaned into his touch a little more. While that wasn’t something she’d jump to right away, it was something she could easily picture between the two of them. And in time, she’d help to protect the pack from anything and everything they may need.
“Maybe one day.” She gave a small smile before leaning in towards him. Jackson didn’t hesitate to close the distance between them and press his lips to hers.
When their lips touched, another vision played through their minds. One that didn’t send a spark of fear through them or cause them to break away from each other. A confirmation that the vision they saw earlier was based on a choice.
Unlike the one earlier, brief images quickly passed by. Images of Y/N and Jackson laughing and enjoying their life had been mixed in with how the pack had been thriving as the months passed. An older version of Hope in comparison to the infant they saw earlier had been standing beside Y/N as they practiced magic together with both of her parents watching close by. And as Y/N waved her hand during a spell, a glimpse of a golden band rested on her finger. Jackson stood off to the side with another pack member as he watched his wife with pride.
But the one thing that filled the vision was the sense of peace that wasn’t there before. Peace that allowed the wolves to thrive in a way that hadn’t in centuries. A peace that not only affected the wolves, but the vampires and witches within New Orleans.
Jackson pulled away from Y/N slightly, a smile pulling at his lips as the vision ended. “Yeah, I think we’ll be okay.” Y/N rolled her eyes slightly, but there was a smile to match his before bringing her lips back to his.

I seriously don't understand the seeming obsession the Wednesday Fandom has with self insert fics. It seems like I can't escape them anytime I'm searching for Wenvier (my Fandom OTP).
hi everyone <3 as usual i am inactive and only writing whenever i have actual free time and inspiration/motivation, but i would like to get started on writing commissions if anyone is willing to give me some.
yesterday evening, my beloved dog lost his battle with bladder cancer. his name was harry and we adopted him in 2017. he was a big, strong and protective 7-yr-old anatolian shepherd who was a rescue from being used for dogfighting, then abandonment. surgery to remove the bladder tumour wasn’t a guaranteed solution as it was heavily expensive as expected and fatal, nor were the medications working to alleviate the pain. we took great care and love for him these past few months, and when we turned our backs for one second, he took his last breath in our living room where he’s been sleeping as he was beyond weak to walk, eat/drink or sleep anymore.
what does this loss have to do with my commissions? i want to make some extra money to pay for other stuff cos most of our cheques went straight to bills, especially medicine for my dog. i’m also planning on selling clothes and books when i find time. i just need money like everyone else basically.
anything helps <3 i promise to be more active on tumblr and wattpad in god’s time. 🤍
I have a tumblr question. Is there a way to block character x reader tags as a whole? (I am NOT trying to shame people who read/write those, I just personally don’t read them and they’re kinda choking up my timeline)
I don’t see a unifying tag for them. It’s usually like, ghost x reader or something like that. Do I just have to manually mute all of them? There seems to be an infinite number of variations 😵💫
Again, no hate, tumblr just really thinks I’m into them for some reason even though, to my knowledge, I have never interacted with them lol
