Self-luminous Consciousness
Self-luminous Consciousness is a key concept in Vedanta and Buddhist philosophies, referring to consciousness as an innate, self-aware light that illuminates itself and the world without external sources. It means consciousness is not dependent on external factors for awareness and is the fundamental basis for all experience. In Vedanta, this is tied to the Atman (individual soul) being identical to Brahman (universal consciousness), while in Buddhism, it is linked to the buddha-nature.
