These are the contestants. Their ranking in the first round is based entirely on how many points they hit for me (and this means Nico and Hunter, since they beat out everyone else, won’t appear until round 2)

Round 1 Match 5: This Kingdom is Falling One Way or Another

Potentially the funniest match up here, either this is teenager going up against a perfectly sculpted soldier possessed by the sun, OR this is an incredibly intelligent and dangerous scientist fighting like. A weird beetle. There is some sort of parallel here between orange magic and dads but it’s not coming to me right now.

You get it by now right can we move on. Outside of the obvious, I am also a clutz and I highly value honesty and the keeping of promises. The hard difference here is that I don’t think Varian should’ve apologized (as much) in season 3 he was right lol down with the monarchy. They locked a 14 year old in jail after leaving him alone with his possibly dead father for months are you kidding me [I am dragged off stage by the ‘it’s a kids show chill out’ brigade]. This is another one I have cosplayed! I still have his staff next to my bed.

The Hollow Knight

Again, my dad never made me run through mazes filled with buzzsaws. I chose to do that myself. The sun does have a negative affect on me though, so there’s that.

Round 1 Match 1: Nickelodeon Kids

I grew up with these two, and in middle school and high school DP and ATLA were my go to comfort shows to binge whenever I was sick or feeling down. They are both close to my heart. Now picture them duking it out in a Wendy’s parking lot while I watch from the sidelines.

Danny Fenton

Danny has always been someone I related to, even more so after I had a nde freshman year of hs. I share his love of puns, we’re both the youngest of two and our older sisters are quite similar, and our respective identities have caused some tension in our lives. Sadly I have yet to foster a rivalry with an evil billionaire, but time will tell. Also unlike Danny I’m pretty decent at writing essays.

Prince Zuko

Zuko is a newer addition to the moodboard after prompting from people who know me. I’m choosing to take it as a compliment, but also I want to be clear my relationship with my dad isn’t that bad. I relate to this character having to unlearn harmful beliefs and dangerous tendencies held in the name of impressing family. And I love a good play.

Round 1 Match 6: Menaced by the Evil Eye

Dipper Pines

Gravity falls was my first real fandom experience and Dipper is someone I still connect to quite a bit. He lacks some of the points that other characters have but a lot of our similarities are much more grounded than some other people on the board. Despite not being maybe the heaviest hitter, he was the first name on the list and ranks higher in my heart. I have cosplayed him quite a few times! Before I even started playing around with pronouns.

Frodo Baggins

Despite the fact that my name is Samwise on twitter, according to a close friend of mine who is a big fan of LotR, I am very Frodo core. Apparently I’m “really going through it” which seems to be a main factor in a lot of these characters. We also share an mbti type. I have not cosplayed him, but I’d like to some day!
