PRACTICING NARCISSISM
Below is A powerful quote I read from Maya Angelou’s book concerning Self Responsibility..
It reminded me of a recent experience where I felt painful repercussions of tHIS lack in a person I once respected justly…When I read this, it drove home one of the less-ons I learned in the encounter…
The qualities she describes are indeed the foundational tools I discovered in Practitioners of Narcissism…it was invaluable to learn that all practicing narcissists are not necessarily the low ranking obvious types….. but ALL run from responsibility and lay consequences of their actions on those they abandon…..
For the high functioning narcissist, (the ones who trick you) their Words can paint a responsible picture, but the quality and feal of the paint inevitably tELLs the True story!
Ah, all I say is, Bless the ear that ears what is True….
Here is the quote:
“In order to be profoundly dishonest, a person must have one of two qualities:
Either he is unscrupulously ambitious, or he is unswervingly egocentric. He must believe that, for his ends to be served all things and people can justifiably be shifted about, or that he is the center, not only of his own world, but of the worlds which others inhabit. I have neither element in my personality, so I hefted the burden of pregnancy at 16 onto my own shoulders, where it belonged.” -Maya Angelou, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings
