Spotted Bundle Enclosure - Jody Pinto
“Jody Pinto is another artist whose work is engendered by fear of death and darkness, dismemberment and painful initiation, though these element are mitigated by a strong attraction to the earth’s nourishing substance. [...] Her Spotted Bundle Enclosures of the mid-1970s were small ‘archaeological’ environments placed at the bottom of old brick wells (or cisterns) in vacant lots in Philadelphia. Pinto excavated them herself. The remains of a hearth, the bundle itself (resembling a corpse wrapped in an animal skin), a few shards and artifacts, evoke an ancient burial place, or the prehistoric pits filled with imported earth or votive offerings, or Celtic holy wells. She saw her wells as “time-bomb containers” of her own feelings and experiences [...] Descent into a wall symbolically suggests both self-annihilation and potential rebirth”.

Maniac
Watcher gazes through the trees, Following a trail of gore, Through the Howling Valley, Undecided whether or not to kill, Wearing the Mask of Ossa well, Trembling for the talent of gold – Brought down in a terrible vision, It goes, separate from itself, alone, Through a Churning Wasteland, Stomach filled with burning stones, weight of the moment – solitary, Until another victim is in the way, And all glory goes back to Silence, Confined to a trembling-state, Living with suicidal thoughts, Early years of crying into old bones, Masturbating on a bloody mattress, Final resting place of the family dog, Imagined to be the girl next door – Things were confusing back then, But not anymore . . . All that should be dead finally dies, Even as the evening torments, Black Shell gradually softens, With violently unkind reflections, Serpentine conjurations of a demon, Voice of an ancient pact – Outside this sagging, rotting flesh, Where ugly truths nest like vermin.
Don't throw your self into the trash, it might still be useful :)
Seeing clearly without immediately demanding self-annihilation callled self-transcendence is already a profound and enough shift towards freedom.
This perspective allows individuals to embrace their existence without the burden of extreme self-denial, fostering a more profound sense of liberation and understanding.
For the soul to achieve the state of eternal bliss (baqaa), one must first experience annihilation of the false-self (fanaa).

Eight Things to Know About the U.K. Vote — by Barry Ritholtz
Hat tip to Ian Bremmer ❝ Well, the Brits have really done it now. All the experts told us people in the U.K. were smart enough to see that voting to leave the European Union was a mistake — but not to worry because the referendum was going to lose… 1. London, Get Used to It ❝ It was a back and forth between New York and London in the bidding to be the capital of capitalism. That race just ended.…

Self-Annihilation (Zardonic Remix) by DenDerty
Wrest me from this terror, my Lord, Wrest me from this anxiety, my Lord, Wrest me from this jumping at the tiniest of noises. A Pandora's box of horrors is unleashed upon me each day, Everywhere I turn a potential new violation awaits me, Everywhere some humiliation, some denial of my humanity. Everywhere, a denial of my existence, Everywhere, a betrayal, Everywhere, a rape. And I wish you would take me from here, my Lord, I wish you would lift me onto your broad back, I wish that you would spread your wings and take flight. Because now they are trying to destroy even my love for you, To make me think of their violence even as I look at you, To feel their knives when it is my saviour I am looking at. Oh, mercy; soon I will open my veins. For would it not be better to pour myself upon the ground Knowing that hidden within the golden sands, You would still be there, Drinking me in?
