Could you class Tony Hawk as an actual self-made man?

Guy doesn’t seem to have come from money, and I wasn’t able to find anything controversial about working conditions or pay etc with his skate company, Birdhouse.

He just seems to have been an average kid who was able to turn his skills at riding a-piece-of-wood-with-wheels-attached into great financial rewards (2021 net worth apparently is around $140,000,000).

I’m sure somewhere down the pipeline there’s some shady business with his licenced games, but I doubt he had involvement on that side of things.
