Re: tagging

The really cool thing about Tumblr's built in blacklist system is that if the original poster (and I believe subsequent reblogs) tags something you have blacklisted, the post will be caught by the blacklist.

What does this mean for us? If you run into someone who ships with your fave and it makes you uncomfortable, you can blacklist their ship tag. This means that even if your mutual reblogs it and doesn't add a tag, the post will be blacklisted. I will either go to their blog and get the ship name off their post, ask them if they have one, or if I'm feeling very sensitive that day ask a friend to help me. I'm often sending tags to friends for them to block ahead of reblogging posts of a shared fave (I only need to do this once). You can even blacklist the blog name in the content filter (as opposed to the tag filter) and then all their posts would be caught by the blacklist.

Obviously this doesn't apply to triggers - I don't think we should assume a trigger has been tagged when we reblog things. But for shared faves? Simplify. Don't rely on goodwill of others when you can protect yourself 😊

so, take someone’s f/o you know NOTHING about. like, never interacted with their source media. or just the one you know the least about. try writing them a letter from that f/o based solely on what they’ve posted about them. wacky hijinks and loving of characters ensues.

Hello to the self-ship community! I don’t really know how to introduce myself but I’ll try anyway

My name is Nyx! I’m super excited to join a positive and loving community like this! I’m an average artist that enjoys being with one f/o, (who will be revealed soon) and that particular character is probably going to be the one you’ll see the most whenever I post or something.
