"Mighty Nein Origins" Box Set Announced

Dark Horse and Critical Role's Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins graphic novels are being collected into a box set. The eight hardcovers will be encased in a slipcover designed by Robynn Frauhn. The graphic novels were created in consultation with the cast of Critical Role. Creatives include Mae Catt, Kevin Burke, Chris "Doc" Wyatt, Jody Houser, Selina Espiritu, Hunter Severn Bonyun, and more.

Beauregard Lionett and Caduceus Clay will be the final two Critical Role Mighty Nein characters to have their origin stories told in graphic novel form from Dark Horse.

“Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins” Library Editions to Collect Character Backstories

Dark Horse Comics and Critical Role have announced two oversized volumes that will collect the backstories of the Mighty Nein characters. The stories have previously been released as standalone graphic novels. The Library Edition includes an expanded sketchbook section.

Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins Library Edition Volume 1 will feature Jester Lavoore, Caleb Widogast, Yasha Nydoorin, and Nott the Brave’s tales. Jester’s story hails from writer Sam Maggs, artist Hunter Severn Bonyun, colorist Cathy Le, and letterer Ariana Maher, in consultation with Critical Role’s Laura Bailey and Matthew Mercer. Caleb’s tale hails from writer Jody Houser, artist Selina Espiritu, colorist Diana Sousa, and letterer Ariana Maher, in consultation with Critical Role’s Liam O’Brien and Matthew Mercer. Fjord Gets “Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins” Graphic Novel

Dark Horse Comics has announced the next Critical Role origins graphic novel and it’s all about Fjord. Critical Role: The Mighty Nein Origins - Fjord Stone hails from Matthew Mercer, Travis Willingham, writers Kevin Burke and Chris “Doc” Wyatt, artist Selina Espiritu, colorist Diana Sousa, and letterer Ariana Maher.

“Growing up in an orphanage on the Menagerie Coast, Fjord Stone has never been comfortable with the assumptions people draw from his half-orc heritage. His sweet, sensitive nature will do him no favors in Port Damali. Luckily, a chance meeting lands Fjord with a job, a mentor, and more adventure than he could ever dream of on the path that will eventually lead him to the rest of the Mighty Nein!” (Dark Horse Comics)
