I have one more swatch planned after this where I don't bring the pattern all the way to the edge, and if I can't get the selvages straight on that one I'm probably going to take a break and work on something else.

The pattern for this little BOXY POUCH was from a Pinterest link ... pinkstitches.blogspot.ca. It’s fully lined and instructions were easy to follow. It was a nice project to use up some of my selvedges

Okay I'm having trouble for some reason with my fabric. I got a yard of fabric and before I washed it, it was perfectly even and straight. But now that I've washed it, whenever I try to line up the edges, the selvages don't line up evenly anymore (one side is "longer" than the other). I'm not sure what to do, I've never encountered this problem or I'm just now noticing it. Maybe it's from the shrinkage but now it won't lay equally folded over now. Thank you so much for your time
I’ve seen this fixed by laying the fabric flat and tugging at it (one hand pulling the straight grain and one hand pulling the cross grain, tugging and wiggling up and down) so that it straightens out. It takes a bit of work, especially if you have a lot of fabric, but should be done before cutting your pieces. Anyone else have suggestions on how to resolve this?
