I’m back :)

Have a picture of Cynthia revisiting the place where part of her heart died, just so you guys can feel something real quick.

Spent about an hour or so in Verdant Brink with a friend the other night and was majorly contemplating many things about the story Cynthia has and how I’m interpreting her world.

I have a lot of stories I’ve been working on for multiple characters, and some sweet sweet lore bits for them, and I can’t wait to share it with you all. 

I’m not one for original posts every day, but I will be sharing the next piece of Cynthia lore soon, so stay tuned 👀

As for a personal update, my Father is doing a lot better than before, thank you all so much for the well wishes. He’s going in for round 2 of chemo tomorrow, and so far things are only looking up for us.

I saw the bts video that Miranda posted earlier today, and I just want to take a moment to talk about Hanako Greensmith and why her being a series regular on Fire is personal for me. I’m putting this under a cut because it’s ~slightly~ long 

First, I want to say I ADORED Adriyan Rae as Gianna Mackey for the short amount of time we got her last season. I thought her character and her relationship with the established characters carried so much potential, so I was heartbroken when I learned she was leaving so soon before we got to fully see that. I also worried about how well they would be able to fill the ambo spot considering the short amount of time they were given to do so. Initially, I wasn’t sold on having Violet fill that role. I was intrigued by her character in the previous season, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the whole Gallo/Violet storyline and mainly I didn’t want them to bring her on solely to serve as Gallo’s competitive love interest. I was surprised and glad when they made clear in her first few episodes at 51 that she was so much more than just his character’s love interest, and I was also ecstatic when I found out they changed her last name to align more with Hanako’s actual ethnic heritage. I’m a mixed Asian-American myself, so growing up there were rarely ever any characters in tv and film that looked like me or shared experiences similar to mine. The film industry has certainly come a long way, but the historic lack of representation, typically coupled with portraying Asian characters in horribly inaccurate and/or stereotypical manners still remains a very disappointing problem within tv and film. All of this is to say I’m happy they’ve introduced another poc to one chicago (and wish they would introduce so many more, especially on PD), but I’m also hoping they continue to integrate her identity in a way that honors and accurately portrays the Asian-American experience. It means a lot to me, as I’m sure it does to so many who share a similar identity, and I’m hopeful for the franchise’s ability to continue to create stories and characters that make people from all backgrounds feel seen and heard in the most authentic of ways.

elementary school was honestly such a shitty time for certain things. like, if i got to school late? they’d blame me, the six-year-old child who couldn’t even fucking drive, even though it was because my parents got stuck in traffic or had to do something extra for their jobs so that they could keep feeding me for god’s sake, and i'd try to explain this to my first grade teacher and she’d just be like “nope fuck you” and i’d get in trouble for it. or like, if someone’s parents recycled their homework? too bad so sad, it’s the kid’s fault because obviously the kid’s lying. like, wtf lady, this is the first grade, it was literally a coloring sheet, chill the fuck out? who cares if he was lying, does it even matter? children have feelings??? and then when we had to do activities in class for father’s day or something and this kid would have to explain that she doesn’t have a dad because he killed himself, and the teachers would again act like it was her fault?? and they would get angry at her for making them uncomfortable or some shit? stop blaming children for things they have literally no control over.

Idk how or why it happened but I logged back into my old ff.net account on a whim a few weeks ago and for some reason I am now re-writing my first ever story (which I already rewrote once, a few months after I originally posted it) because even though I am no longer in that fandom I am, apparently, bored, I still like the general plot, and I feel like I can do it better now.

I Need A Favor

Hey guys! Happy Sunday! Does anyone on here watch the Superbowl and if so can they dm when it gets close to Halftime because I really wanna see Shakira & J-Lo perform, but I also HATE football. I mean I watch it when I'm with Football or if the guy I'm dating at the time wants to, but I'm currently single & living alone. My sister is in New York rn and my mom & brother live two hours away so... Yeah. If anyone can help that'd be great, but if not that's cool. I'll just read Fanfic while it's on or something.
