In order: Semimulti/semspec (haha silly pun), semibi, semipan, semipoly/semiply, semiomni, semiabro.
The Semspec and all identities within it describe anyone who is simultaneously a multiorientation (bisexual, panromantic, polyplatonic, omnisensual, abroaesthetic, etc.) and also attracted to one gender, in some way. These labels would be used by:
- Abrosexual people who are always constantly attracted to one gender, but who's attraction to other genders is fluid or comes and goes. They may use only semiabro, or may also use semibi, semipan, semipoly, or semiomni as well.
- People who experience split attraction and are multioriented in one form of attraction, while mono-oriented in the other
- People who are only attracted to one gender, however their attraction includes multigender or genderfluid people, as long as the gender they are attracted to is one of their genders.
- People who are attracted to one spectrum of similar genders (such as only being attracted to fiaspec genders), leading to this gray area of being attracted to multiple genders, but because all those genders are so similar or could be considered variants of the same gender, it's more similar to mono-oriented people's experiences than how multioriented people usually experience attraction.
- Only experiencing attraction to one gender, but open to and potentially interested in that type of relationship with people of other genders for reasons other than attraction, making one "functionally multi/bi/pan/poly/omni"
- Experiencing attraction to multiple genders, but only open to/interested in that type of relationship with one gender, making one "functionally mono"
- Attracted to one gender, but one wants to use the "attracted to genders similar and dissimilar to one's own" or "experiencing homosexuality and heterosexuality" definitions of bi, and because they are multigender, their attraction would fit this.
There may be other reasons someone could use these, but these are the reasons I could think of.
The semspec is a reclamation of "semibisexual," a label that seemingly was made in bad faith, but I saw potential in its original rudimentary definition for being able to describe more nuanced experiences with gendered attraction. These terms are obviously not for people who do not, in some way, experience both mono attraction and multi attraction at the same time.
!! OP is a radical inclusionist and a bi lesbian, please do NOT suggest these terms as alternates to so-called ""problematic"" identities like mspec lesbian, mspec gay, mspec straight, lesboy, turigirl, or any other "contradictory" identity these terms or their counterparts can have overlap with
