Pearl has never heard of spoons before 

no one knows how, no one knows why

at first everyone thought it was a joke but then they watched her eat soup with a knife 

some hermits have tried to show her, but the moment she stops looking at a spoon she forgets what it is 

Grian is the only hermit who sees nothing wrong with this (they haven’t realized no one has seen him with a fork)

IDK why but it reminded me of this

All the hermits know that Pearl isn’t human, but they don’t actually know what she is

Pearl is for lack of a better word “in sync” with the moon

she has what seems like boundless energy during full moons and some hermits learned the hard way not to spar with her during or near one

Moon Big was the most energetic anyone had seen Pearl even with the lack of sleep

but she’s exhausted during new moons to the point where they had to make sure no meetings were during one because she couldn’t stay awake for them

None of the hermits can remember seeing Pearl during a blood moon and no one can ever find her

well except for Grian but that’s because he’s the only hermit who remembers double life
