Several large runner beans sown today at La Macchina Fissa. 

I wish I knew their names. The maroon and white one might be a Christmas Lima Bean. Many of the more interesting large beans came from SeMiScambi, a seed-swapping meeting in Cremona (in September). There is so much good stuff there, and the people are kind and generous.

Cosmos sulphureus. The plant is from Mexico and central america, but I got the seeds in August of 2008 during a walk from Sanzen-in Temple to Jakko-in Temple. There was a field near Ohara that was full of them. Unforgettable.
