This was a request from @ryanmjonson, and a much needed set of examples for the world to see. This is about how Senators respond to their constituents. I provide two examples. First is from @senbennetco. Notice that it is a form letter, but within it contains the actions he's taking and how he's listening to the voters. Second example is @sencorygardner, notice he says nothing about what he's willing to do about the issue. He regurgitates what happened, then said contact me if you need anything else. The first exemplifies listening and the actions he is taking to do something about the addressed problem. The second is pointless communication. Yes, politicians use form letters. But don't ever tell me it isn't a chance to still communicate with, and act on behalf of your voters. I will forever keep these letter in my inbox and remember who chose to listen and act when it comes time for reelection. We'll see you in 2020, Senator Gardner! I will never forget you turning a blind eye to the victims of mass shootings. I will never forget that you let Betsy DeVos in. I will never forget that you advocated for a tax bill that hurts the small business I created in Colorado. I've reached out to you more times than I care to count and you haven't listened once. And thank you, Senator Bennet. I'll see you in 2022 but to ensure you are sticking around! #lasvegasshooting #lasvegas #guncontrol #netneutrality #colorado #coloradoproud #advocacy #voters #2020 #betsydevos #taxbill #tax #corygardner #senatorgardner #senatorbennet #politicians #politics (at Denver, Colorado)
