today had been a rather peaceful day, i had the day off of work and juju didn't have any practices scheduled, so we decided to just take the day easy and relax. something that we never get to do like ever.
right now juju and i are laying in our bed, im laying on my back as shes sprawled out on my chest, i'm reading a book that i've had on my reading list for a while but never got to read it.
it was a cute romance book that i had seen on tiktok a while back, it wasn't anything like those kind of booktok books.
so i decided to add it to my reading list. as i was reading juju was scrolling on her phone. we say in a comfortable silence for a while until i spoke up.
"some of these lines remind me of you." i said with a smile as i looked down at her as she lifted her head up to look at me.
juju looked up from her phone as she smiled, "yeah? which ones?" she asked giving me her undivided attention.
this one is one of my favorites, "as the girl of my dreams sat right there next to me less than a foot away, i couldn't help but admire her features, the way her eyes lighten up when she speaks, the way her smile can brighten up a room, and most of all, she was astonishingly beautiful." i finish up my sentence as i look at her.
at this point juju had set her phone down as she admired me, the way i spoke when i read her the line from the book, it seemed as if she was inspecting every little feature.
i could see a smile start to form on her face as i finished reading, the smile that makes me fold every time.
she lifted herself up with a smile to give me a quick but meaningful kiss as she repositioned herself back to how she was.
she grabbed my book and flipped through a few pages backwards, i looked at her confused until she spoke up.
"this one reminds me of you." she said and i waited for her to read it outloud.
"as she spoke i felt bad that i couldn't focus on any words she was saying, all i could focus on is the way her eyes sparkled in the light, the way her body moved so smoothly when she talked with her hands, how beautiful she was, how beautiful my girl was." juju finished reading the sentence and looked up at me with a smile.
i couldn't fight off the smile that rised onto my face as i placed a soft kiss on the top of her forehead as i reached for my book placing my bookmark and setting it down on our bedside table.
i wrapped my arms around juju who was now half awake as we settled in intertwining our limbs.
"i love you." i hear her whisper as she began to drift to sleep.
"i love you too." i responded as i too started to drift off into a deep slumber.
if the book i read makes me remember one thing, its that the girl i am holding in my arms is astonishingly beautiful, and people would kill to be in my position and have a beautiful girlfriend like mine.
