how do u guys think Senguuji Yamato grappled with his father's blatant nepotism towards him. like do you think that after Raimon defeated Dragonlink he became painfully aware of his own shortcomings, being unable to bring his team to victory?

do you think that when he first met his teammates and heard their stories of how soccer was denied to them, he thought "damn, I have no idea what that's like. I'm not like anyone here. what makes me, who has never dealt with poverty and being denied chances, qualified to be their captain? what makes me qualified to even be here?"

before, his only problem was being different from his team, but now? now he also has to reckon with not being strong enough to win them the championship.

when do you think he realized that the reason he was in Dragonlink at all was to be his father's stand-in, the person he could play the game through? just a puppet on strings, playing for everybody but himself.

his father was denied the chance to play soccer, and worked hard all his life to give that chance to his son. still, doesn't he wonder whom his father would prefer to stand on the pitch?

who do you think resents Yamato the most? his team? his father? or himself?
