We have now been actively trying to adopt for over a decade with only a few months off between babies. I still remember driving home from the Idaho infertility clinic both crying so hard that we had to pull over because we couldn't see the road. We filled out our adoption papers the very next day. It was the easiest decision we have ever made. Our relationship has been tested and tried on so many levels, but our commitment to each other and to our family is fierce. When one is weak the other is strong and so we continue this perfectly imperfect dance while we wait and search for one more.
