Sensory sensitive tips #1
Do you avoid brushing your teeth because of the discomfort it causes? I have a couple suggestions
Does the minty flavor affect you? I personally struggle with super minty toothpastes, but fear not! First and foremost, you don't necessarily need toothpaste at all. The brush itself will do enough to dispel plaque. Secondly, and i know this is kinda obvious, try kid's flavors! These will be designed to be less overwhelming. Plus you can find preferred flavors to make the whole ordeal less stressful. If you prefer mint, just not to the intensity it has in other brands, try Biotène! Its still nice and minty, but tolerably so. Its also made to prevent canker sores, so if that's a problem, you kill two birds with one stone!
Does the brush affect you? Though its not an everyday solution, on especially bad days you can use a clean washcloth. But, seeing as this is not a long-term solution, you can try different brush types. I don't really know what exists, per say, but i have heard "soft bristle" brushes, so that is an option.
As with anything, please do your own research! I don't know everything, and everybody has individual issues that, in some cases, need to be managed on a personal basis!
