the brain fog when you’re not taking adhd meds is like walking around in a disassociative dream state😵💫
the thing i think people misunderstand about a hyperfixation is that it is genuinely distressing & not really fun at all. you dont just get absorbed in it. you sot there thinking about needing to piss and eat something and sleep and oh god its probably 1am right now but im physically incapable of checking the time because that would require me to disengage. disengaging is not possible. disengaging before the dopamine wanes might actually kill me. i know it wont and would probably actually be healthier, but that doesnt stop the distress chemicals from releasing into my brain and my body at the mere thought. but eventually the dopamine does wane. and i can finally take stock of the fucking aftermath. and its 2:30 am and i havent moved for hours and my bladder is going to explode and my stomach has begun eating itself and i havent drank any water all day. and i am so fucking tired.
and the other thing i think people misunderstand about hyperfixations is that sometimes you hyperfixate on something fully knowing it sucks shit.
ADHD is developing the plot for an entire book while zoned out and daydreaming and then getting so immersed in it that you spend the next week developing characters, their traits, places, development, twists and turns and just hoping the creativity holds up and you'll get to finish it.
(I spend approx 5 hours making character moodboards today)

Study blog 6 : Feeling the drive
I could really feel my focus and drive coming back today after a long - long time. I tracked my entire day and timed everything I did- with office meetings, office work, my breaks, my lunch , hobbies and my studies. I plan to journal for a week to understand exactly how I have been spending my time.
Study goals - I went through a few videos and finally started solving math questions. I deliberately targetted hard and extreme questions today followed by medium questions, knowing very well I wouldn't be able to do the hard ones because I wanted to give my brain enough stimulation for it to get into the zone. I did not complete everything I had planned for today but I am happy with the progress.
Health and Fitness - I am really not getting any time to workout and I reckon it is only possible if I wake up on time. So nothing to say here apart from the fact that I have been trying to maintain my diet everyday.
I feel really positive today even though I didn't get much done in terms of what I had planned , but it was a work heavy day , so it's okay.
I feel the spark coming back and I am genuinely getting more engrossed and interested in doing the things I have been trying to do for the past few months , which is a big deal after so long!!!!!!
P.S. I have been using this app calles Finch for some time now and it has been really helping me track my habits and goals for the day. It has gamified my life basically!
Thought it could help someone . Try it out guys!
Writing Checkpoint Drawing a blank? Try writing a one page synopsis for your WIP.
If you're a writer with ADHD (like me) then you already know this:
Your ideas? They're endless, charged, cinematic—ELECTRIC!!!! ⚡
The execution? ... crickets.
The execution is where things get "complicated".
Today, I'd like to explain why ADHD is an obstacle in of itself, how you can overcome its' evil tricks, and why you shouldn't blame yourself on bad days.
Okay, first off—Executive Dysfunction.
We’re inbetween hyper fixations so we’re kinda bored and sad all the time
