Sentinel Minor's latest batch of recruits are the worst so far. As well as a complete and utter bumbler and a mudflap who's all bulk and no brain, a computer glitch has assigned him a permanently malfunctioning young female cadet over and above his usual allocation. But one 'bot's bugs can be another's features.

(This fic - and the series of which it will be the start - was to some extent inspired by @justawannabearchaeologist‘s “TFP Wheeljack in TFA” series, which also finally persuaded me to watch this programme, and is highly recommended.)

Sentinel Minor, Hotshot and Wheeljack’s superior in the flashback Armada ( where Wheeljack think he was left to die), I don’t think he was a complete jerk, after all he went after and risked his own life to go after Hotshot after Hotshot fainted within the fire when he tried to save Wheeljack.

I wasn’t aware he had a name; a little fitting if you ask me.

What makes the divide between Wheeljack and Hot Shot so tragic to me is that no one is entirely to blame for what happened, all of it was just unfortunate circumstances.

It wasn’t Hot Shot’s fault for wanting to seek help and the flames ultimately becoming too hot for him to stand when he attempted to go back and rescue Wheeljack.

It wasn’t Wheeljack’s fault that Megatron ended up being the only one that was able to save him (makes me wonder how Megatron got through that fire, just that much of a badass I guess).

And it wasn’t Sentinel Minor’s fault that the flames were considered too hot and dangerous to go back into. Despite his arrogance and rather rude way of stopping Hot Shot, he was trying to be a responsible commander and not have more soldiers be lost/hurt to the fire. And as you’ve mentioned, he did go in to rescue Hot Shot after he passed out.

There really wasn’t any winning for anyone in this situation. Unless a team was able to put out the wild blaze in time, something was bound to go wrong or poorly no matter what people decided to do.

I've been a little confused lately as to the origins of Optimus Prime in the stories told by Michael Bay. One source called him an "orphan" and the last of the Primes, and yet after seeing the hatchlings in ROTF, I hadn't thought Cybertronians in that world were raised by individual "parents". . . Optimus... Prime? No way, I don't think so. I'm only a Minor myself, and I'm way ahead of that coward. I'll make Magnus before he makes Major, I'll bet my Skyboom on it!
