Thesis Idea More Solid

After my initial intention i came to a conclusion about what my Thesis is going to be actualized as.

Esoteric Africana is the working title for this exhibition. It is going to be an art installation and exhibition inspired by wizard tropes, high fantasy, and my own mixed race lineage. It would take the form of several art pieces with the main focus on the installation aspect. Each piece serves as an ode to my own art journey and my experience experimenting in different mediums. The main focuses are; Robes, Staff, Three illustrations of mythical beasts inspired by East African animals and myths, and a replica of the wizards study. Each aspect will take the typical fantasy tropes associated with them and overlaying them with my own history and interpretations of Africa growing up around textiles, objects, music, and more.

Dracula Characters + The Type of Students They Would Be in a Group Project

Van Helsing- The teacher who assigns the project, gives a vague description of the criteria, then tells everyone to just read the pamphlet.

Jonathan- The kid who read the pamphlet and understands it.

Jack- The kid who read the pamphlet, didn't understand it at all, but tries to act like he does.

Mina- The kid who does all the research, and ends up doing 90% of the work.

Arthur- The kid who gets stuck doing the tasks no one else wants to do.

Quincey- The kid who doesn't show up until just before the project's due, skims the pamphlet, but still somehow ends up being more helpful than most of the other group members.

Lucy- The kid who was eager to help out in the beginning, but ends up getting sick half way through and misses most of the group meetings.

(also can Van Helsing help himself? he meets his people and falls in love straightaway. yes i know stoker was sort of setting him up as a fatherly figure. but dilf, ok? ok)
